‘Price Is Right’ Fans Upset Show Feels Rigged

The Price is Right offers several feel-good stories involving players. There are also moments when a player loses, and host Drew Carey seems to take it hard. However, there will always be fans who disbelieve everything they see on television. This includes the popular game show, where some fans are calling the show out as being “rigged.”
Here is what has caused some fans to call out the popular game show and what they had to say about things not being on the up-and-up.
The Price Is Right Contestant Loses Controversial Game
On a recent episode of The Price is Right, a player named Corey had a chance to win a $10,000 prize. Corey was off to a good start, winning on Contestant’s Row. He bid $1,750 on a 4K LED TV package, which cost $1,970. This allowed him to play “2 For the Price of 1.”

The rules of “2 For the Price of 1” are as follows. The player can win two prizes. One prize has three digits in its price. The player has to guess which two digits displayed are in the correct positions. The player then gets a free digit. They then select which remaining digits are correct. If they guess the price correctly, they win both prizes.
The two prizes included a foosball table and $10,000 in cash. Corey had to figure out the cost of the foosball table. The numbers on top were in this order: “910.” The bottom row had “476.” Corey got his free number and chose the middle, which ended up as “1.” The first number Corey chose was “9.” Corey asked the audience for help and chose “0.” next as the last number.
The guess was wrong. However, The Price is Right didn’t show which numbers were wrong. Likely, looking at foosball tables online, the first number was probably a “4.” This is a challenging game since there are no second chances. It is one guess and then win or lose.
Fans Claim The Price Is Right Is Rigged After Tough Loss
Many Price is Right fans online also decided that the foosball table price was likely $410 (via The Express). However, some fans felt this was questionable. Corey lost in the Showcase Showdown, only getting a 20 in the Big Wheel.
Here is a sample of what many fans said about Corey’s loss on The Price is Right and how it didn’t seem fair:
- One commenter said they couldn’t believe that price was accurate, writing, “I can’t believe it’s a 410 bucks foosball table.”
- Another said this was highly unusual for this particular Price is Right game. “I can’t believe it. No prizes ever cost under $500 during that game.”
- Another suggested that the game show was rigged to prevent the giveaway of too many prizes: “I thought that the foosball table would be $910 instead of $410. Was it some kind of set-up because they just did not want to give away too many prizes?”
