After Friday night’s new episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, there are only five queens left in the competition.

This year, Drag Race fans have seen plenty of drama in addition to elaborate performances. Few will forget the moment Arrietty left a hateful message for Onya Nurv written in lipstick on the bathroom mirror.

But with just a few more episodes remaining in the season, the final five performers are on guard. They know they need to step up their performances if they want to win the entire competition.

Who went home this week and who will win it all?

And then there were five. After a lip sync showdown last night, Sam Star ultimately came out on top against Lana Ja’Rae.

Although Lana has a strong and healthy fanbase, it was her fourth time in the bottom. Most viewers agree that she shined during the lip sync, but it was time for her to say goodbye.

After an exciting performance, no one really wanted to see either queen leave. In the comments, some noted that it was the best lip sync battle all season long.

Comments from viewers included:

  • The one lip sync Lana devours she gets sent home 😭”
  • Let’s be honest, I love Sam but c’mon Lana ate that and won.”
  • Sam Star is such a captivating drag performer and that’s why she stayed she gives DRAG!”
  • Both were great but Sam is just so stunning. Couldn’t get over the look!!!!

The Final Five Must Step Up Their Performances

With Lana out of the way, that leaves five performers competing for the top spot on Drag Race Season 17. That includes:

  • Onya Nurv
  • Sam Star
  • Jewels Sparkles
  • Lexi Love
  • Suzie Toot

Many Drag Race fans believe that Onya Nurv stands the best chance of coming in first place, with four wins under her belt at this stage. Social media comments reveal that viewers adore Onya. But fan support doesn’t always necessarily secure a first-place victory.

Ultimately, it’s still anyone’s race at this point.

As Drag Race fans know, the ultimate decision comes down to the hostess herself, RuPaul. As it currently stands, viewers could make a case for any of the final five to win this year. There are still several competitions and lip syncs in store. Sadly, even one little mistake could cost the remaining queens their spot in the finale.

Which performer do you think will ultimately win RuPaul’s Drag Race this season? Are you sad to learn that Lana Ja’Rae left on Friday? Add your own thoughts and ideas to the conversation below.
