Is ‘General Hospital’ Killing Off Valentin Cassadine?
Since his return to Port Charles, Valentin Cassadine’s fate has been a topic of discussion for fans of General Hospital for quite a while. Thanks to recent events, however, fans are especially worried they could soon see the end of the James Patrick Stuart character. However, fans are also wondering what the fallout could be if the soap decides to kill off the character.
A Champagne Glass Has Characters Out For Valentin On General Hospital
Valentin has been part of the soap since 2016, though the character was planned as far back as 2009. Since his debut, he has been played by actor James Patrick Stuart, who had previously appeared on All My Children.
The character made his return to the soap this past December. At the time, there was concern that this could put some of the other characters in danger. However, fans are now starting to worry for Valentin himself.
Recently on the soap, Valentin accidentally put Carly in trouble with a drink of poisoned champagne. The intended victim was Jack, who, now, along with Jason, is out to get him.
By the end of the March 19 episode, Valentin was cornered by Jack at a pier before he could make his getaway on boat. It’s at this point Brennan reveals his pistol, saying, “It’s the end of the line, old friend.”
It’s at this point where fans are worrying if Jack’s fate will be sealed on the soap. Notably, as previously reported, fans were already starting to worry they would soon see the last of the character in Port Charles.
At the time, fans were especially worried as the character seemed to be getting less and less focus since his latest return. Soaps recently mused that Jack and Sidwell recently taking over Valentin’s usual storylines.
A While Back, Fans Originally Expected Valentin To Be The One To Take Care Of Brennan
The publication also noted that a soap doesn’t have to outright kill off a character to have them leave. It’s possible Valentin will be put into a situation where the characters merely think he’s dead.
There had previously been concern that Valentin lost his chance at love with Anna. Keeping him alive would allow the relationship to get a second chance should the writers want to revisit the storyline along the line.

Interestingly, at one point, fans originally suspected an encounter between Valentin and Brennan would go in the opposite direction. Following his return to the soap, as previously reported, fans were worried that Brennan was the one who would be in danger from Valentin.
Of course, when it comes to soaps, anything could happen. After all, even if Valentin ends up getting killed off, the character could still come back in some way. In the end, only time will tell what will happen to Valentin on the show.
