‘Teen Mom’ Tyler Baltierra Shares ‘Suicide’ Post, Obsession Scaring Fans
The controversy surrounding Teen Mom stars Tyler Baltierra and Cateynn Lowell has become scary. This all comes from their decision in 2009 to put their daughter Carly up for adoption. According to the couple, they wanted an open adoption so their daughter would be in a more secure household, but they could remain part of her life.
However, they have recently begun attacking the adoptive parents when they cut off their rights to see Carly after they started becoming too obsessive. Now, Tyler has done something that has turned even more fans against him. He referenced suicide in concerns to his daughter. Here is what you need to know.
Teen Mom Star Tyler Baltierra Mentions Suicide During Battle For Daughter
While he didn’t mention Carly’s name in the post, Tyler Baltierra made a social media post that was clearly aimed toward his birth daughter. While he and Catelynn have been blocked from seeing their birth daughter, the couple has started attacking the idea of adoption completely.
In 2009, the world watched as Catelynn and Tyler shared their pregnancy on the Teen Mom precursor, 16 and Pregnant. The couple chose to put their newborn daughter, Carly, up for adoption, and MTV aired the entire ordeal as it happened. Catelynn and Tyler chose the adoptive parents and then handed the baby over when she was born.
Carly is now a teenager, and as Teen Mom: The Next Chapter has shown, Catelynn and Tyler were not getting the open adoption they had expected when they made this tough decision. While Carly’s parents have worked with the two to keep the line of communication open, Catelynn especially has made their lives a living hell with her obsessive behaviors.
For several years, neither Catelynn nor Tyler seemed interested in Carly. They are overdoing it, sending weekly gifts and making things challenging for Carly’s parents. Carly’s parents had to set boundaries, and this caused Catelynn to make it public knowledge, and her fans started harassing Carly’s parents. Now, Catelynn and Tyler have made their beliefs known that all adoptions are unethical (via PEOPLE).
This led to Tyler’s recent social media post. He posted “statistics” that claim that “adoptees are 36.7 times more likely to attempt to unalive themselves over their non-adopted peers.” Tyler’s post reveals he thinks that Carly could attempt suicide because she was adopted.

The Teen Mom fans who saw this post came to a similar decision. They feel this is more than overstepping boundaries for Tyler Baltierra, they feel it is harmful to his daughter and her well-being.
