Lowe is known for appearing on the eighth season of The Bachelorette. He proved popular enough to appear on Season 17 of The Bachelor. In the following years Lowe has made appearances in various other reality shows, such as Dancing with the Stars.

As previously reported, Lowe recently revealed on Instagram that he had been attacked by a family dog, Moose. Reportedly, Moose started nipping at his finger before things took a turn for the worse, with him biting his feet and his arm. The Bachelor alum eventually had to go to the ER.

The dog proceeded to attack Lowe a second time a while later. During this altercation, the police had to get involved.

TMZ has recently released body cam footage related to the attack. Lowe could be seen pinning down his dog after being bit for the third time. Trying to keep Moose under control, Lower warned police the dog would lunge at him again if he let go.

Sean Lowe Shared That He Doesn’t Blame Moose For The Attack

Moose resisted the officers for quite a while before the cops managed to control the situation. Eventually, Moose ended up getting tased as Lowe was able to escape.

Bill Mathes, Chief of Police for the City of University Park, Texas, talked to TMZ about the incident. As he noted, tasing the dog was done as a last resort. He added that the dog wasn’t injured and was taken to a local veterinarian in good condition.

According to the publication, Lowe is working with Animal Control and a no-kill shelter to help Moose. This means it’s unlikely the dog will be euthanized.

At this time, Lowe has shared that he isn’t blaming Moose for the attack. He believes external factors may have sparked the incident.

As previously reported, Sean’s wife Catherine also spoke out about the incident. While Catherine appeared in an Instagram video where Sean discussed the attack with fans, she let him do most of the talking. However, in a later post on Instagram, she shared a photo of Sean with their daughter, with visible wounds on his arm. At the time, she wrote, “We love this man so much,” in the caption.

Fans Were Concerned About Moose When The Family First Shared The News They Adopted Him

Notably, there had even been concern over Moose when the family first introduced the dog to fans on social media. In a joint post, Sean and Catherine wrote, “Everyone, please welcome Moose! Santa and Daddy took the kids’ requests for a dog for Christmas into consideration.”

“We are happy to add this 7 year old (we think) rescue boxer into our zoo. We hope he loves us as much as we have already grown to love him.”

As one fan wrote at the time, “OMG, please be careful with him around your kids! All of my friends who rescued adult dogs have all attacked their children!”

“You just never know their history. All dogs need love – especially the older ones, just be cautious. He sure is a cutie!”

In a more recent share, a fan wrote the following advice, “Anyone thinking of getting a dominant/high prey drive breed, get your dog professionally trained. Especially rescue dogs.”

“Get to know your dogs triggers and what makes them reactive before trusting them 100%. For all we know the noise from the fire alarm/smoke paired with the waving of the rag could’ve triggered Moose’s prey drive and he might’ve seen you as a threat.”
