Bachelor star Sean Lowe shared a terrifying experience on social media involving his rescue dog. The dog attacked him and sent him to the ER. Sean’s wife, Catherine Lowe, broke her silence on the traumatic incident.

Bachelor Sean Lowe’s Rescue Dog Attacks

Sean and Catherine Lowe took to Instagram in January to share that they had adopted a rescue dog. They welcomed a Boxer named Moose. The shelter estimated the dog was 7. Sean’s kids asked for a dog for Christmas and the Bachelor couple agreed.

The Lowes thought the dog would be a good fit for their family. However, rescue dogs can be unpredictable. Sean Lowe shared on social media earlier this week that the dog attacked him multiple times within twelve hours. He had to go to the ER to get stitches. He shared the gruesome photos on social media.

Sean Lowe was forced to call the police to help subdue the dog after the attacks escalated. The dog was reportedly sent to a no-kill shelter, but it will likely be euthanized because of a history of aggression.

Previously Re-homed Another Dog

The Lowe family might want to strongly reconsider next time they think about getting a dog. Moose isn’t the first family dog they re-homed because of biting. TODAY reported that another dog was previously re-homed after biting one of Sean and Catherine’s kids.

The couple adopted a Bullmastiff named Gus in 2022. The dog bit their son Samuel a year later and had to be re-homed. According to Sean Lowe, the dog also nipped at their young daughter in an earlier incident.

Sean Lowe later shared an update that Gus was doing great in his new home. Despite the recent horrifying attack, he doesn’t blame either dog for their behavior. The Bachelor star said that Moose experienced “a lot of trauma” before joining the Lowe family.

Catherine Lowe Breaks Her Silence On Dramatic Incident

Catherine and Sean Lowe have three children: Samuel, 8, Isaiah, 6, and Mia, 5. Luckily, none of the kids or Catherine were home at the time of the first dog attack. Sean was having a backyard BBQ with some of his friends, who helped him get to the ER and cleaned up the bloody mess left by the attack.

The kids and Catherine did, however, witness the later attack. The traumatic event clearly left the family rattled, as viewers can see in the video Sean shared on Instagram.

His wife was in the video, too, but he did most of the talking. She broke her silence with a sweet post on Instagram. She shared a photo of her husband giving their daughter, Mia, a kiss. The wounds and stitches from the dog attack are visible on the reality star’s arm.

“We love this man so much,” Catherine captioned the photo, adding a heart emoji. Both Sean and his wife have the comment turned off on their recent posts about the dog attack. While many fans are probably supportive, the couple get their share of online hate.

Do you think the Lowe family should adopt another dog in the future? Sound off in the comments.
