Things just haven’t felt right since Pat Sajak made the hard decision to step away from his longtime hosting gig and retire. Wheel Of Fortune Insiders Suggest Network Not Happy With Ryan Seacrest
There have been rumors flying for months now that the network is not really happy with how things are going with Ryan Seacrest. Longtime fans of Wheel of Fortune are just not happy with his hosting skills. It’s just not the same without Pat Sajak who hosted the popular game show for more than 40 years.
Ratings have reportedly continued to drop in recent months. As many looking into why the ratings are not what they used to be, it is being thought that Seacrest just doesn’t have a secret weapon that Sajak did.
Radar Online shared that insiders revealed that the network is considering making a move to shake things up. It seems Ryan just does not have one major thing that Pat did. Sources said,
“You’re starting to see what a secret weapon Pat Sajak’s understated sense of humor was for that show. Ryan is fast on his feet, but not necessarily when it comes to jokes, but that stuff came naturally to Pat and got woven into the fabric of Wheel over the many decades he was on.”
It was suggested that if Ryan really plans to stay or even if he’s allowed to stay on as host of Wheel of Fortune he should hire joke writers.
Ratings Continue To Drop
When Ryan Seacrest first started as host of Wheel of Fortune, ratings soared. In fact, it hit a five-year high. However, as it went on, fans grew weary of Seacrest and began to really miss the sense of humor that Pat Sajak brought to the game show.
Now, many wonder if Ryan’s future with the show could be in jeopardy. It’s previously been reported that Sajak wants his job back. However, that was never confirmed by a reliable source, it was just a rumor.
There was also speculation that his daughter Maggie may want to step in and become host, following in her father’s footsteps. She has worked behind the scenes since 2021. Could she be ready to take over one of these days?
Right now, Ryan Seacrest has a multiyear contract with Wheel of Fortune. However, if ratings do not improve will the network have a change of heart and replace him?
Another aspect that could change things is when Vanna White decides to step down. This timeline is unknown right now but will certainly change things for the show.
Insiders said,
“Essentially, the Ryan and Vanna team was always going to be a temporary relationship, and not the permanent configuration of the show for the next two or three decades. With the ratings heat from last fall cooling down, everybody involved with the franchise is wondering if more sudden changes could be in the cards.”

I love Ryan, he entertaining, friendly & funny with contestants. I really don’t want to miss a show. Give the guy a break, he’s just starting, PAT HAD 40 years, he was great, but always good to have fresh entertainment.
Some people are right….its not the same….its so much better with Ryan….he interacts with the guests, offers personal comments and actually seems interested in what they have to say and is great with Vanna who has become much more a personality and interacts so well with Ryan. I now record it in case I’m out but generally it’s Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy to start our evening.
