Kelly Clarkson Misses Multiple Talk Show Episodes
Actor Simu Liu abruptly stepped in to host The Kelly Clarkson Show on March 3rd after Kelly Clarkson’s unexpected absence. She returned a few days later but then mysteriously disappeared and hasn’t been seen on the show for most of March. She’s reportedly missed over 10 episodes of her popular talk show.
Fans became extremely concerned for the singer’s well-being. However, a source revealed that the American Idol winner was fine, but had a family emergency that forced her to miss several tapings of the talk show. The source didn’t share any details about the family emergency and whether it was something to do with her kids, River, 10, and Remmy, 8. Both of her children have appeared on her daytime talk show in the past.
Fans Tune Out Despite Famous Guest Hosts
With Kelly Clarkson missing, the daytime talk show had no choice but to bring in reinforcements. A slew of celebrities have stepped in to host the show, including model Molly Sims, actor Willie Geist, and most recently, Kal Penn.
However, viewers aren’t tuning in without Kelly Clarkson there. They expressed their frustration on the show’s official Instagram. “No thank you, I’m out,” one viewer wrote. When pressed by another fan, they added, “I never watch when a guest host is hosting.”
But most fans were supportive of the guest hosts. Multiple comments called for Molly Sims to get her own talk show.
When Will Kelly Clarkson Return?
Kelly Clarkson’s daytime talk show premiered in 2019 to rave reviews and high ratings. Fans absolutely love the “Kellyoke” segment where the singer performs covers of hit songs from other artists. Viewers have been begging for years for a full-length album of covers from the “Since U Been Gone” singer.
The entire show moved from California to New York City in May 2023 when Kelly Clarkson and her kids moved across the country. The show is currently in its sixth season and has already been renewed for at least one more.
Kelly Clarkson’s absence likely won’t hurt the chances of the show returning for beyond Season 7. Even though she missed a few shows and some fans may have tuned out, the ratings are still strong for a daytime talk show.
So, when can viewers expect to see Kelly Clarkson back as the host of the talk show? She’s reportedly already back filming and will return to TV soon. According to multiple outlets, she started taping the show again on March 13. But it’s important to note that The Kelly Clarkson Show doesn’t film in the order the show was taped. There’s no word on exactly when the singer will be back on screens. But fans will welcome her back with open arms.
