‘The View’: Sunny Hostin Defends Wendy Williams
The View co-host, Sunny Hostin just defended recent show guest, Wendy Williams. Wendy is back in the spotlight as she fights to be freed from her court-appointed guardianship. She also maintains she does not have dementia. So, what is Sunny saying in favor of Wendy? Keep reading for more details.
Sunny Hostin Defends Wendy Williams
Wendy Williams has been speaking out about her health and what is going on in her life. The former talk show host has been under a court-appointed guardianship since 2022. Plus, she has been in a memory care facility which she deems necessary and has become like a prison. She cannot leave unless accompanied and is ready for it to end. Wendy wants a new attorney added to her counsel and, if necessary, a different guardian to handle her needs. She recently appeared on The View in a pre-taped, over-the-phone segment with Ginalisa Monterroso and slammed the system.
She wanted to show that she was cognizant and coherent, something that has long been questioned. Initially, Wendy was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia but that appears to be false. Even the staff at the memory care facility have nothing but great things to say about Wendy’s recall. They believe she is just fine and she wants that to be seen. Fans who saw her on The View pleaded with Sunny Hostin to take over the case as she is a lawyer. Rather, she spoke out in defense of Wendy which says a lot about her faith in the TV personality.
Sunny shared that she has known Wendy for twenty-five years and she sounded the same as she did back in the day. She added that it’s sad that her family is being kept away but Ana Navarro jumped in and noted how Wendy has been traveling. Furthermore, she just went out to dinner with her niece but Sunny reminded the ladies that Wendy needs permission to do anything in her life. Therefore, her life is not her own and fans loved how Sunny backed Wendy right up.
Sunny To The Rescue
After Ana Navarro tried to make it seem like Wendy Williams had so much freedom, Sunny Hostin jumped right in. The View co-host and attorney made it clear that she does not have free will in any capacity. Immediately, fans appreciated what Sunny did and how she spoke about her dear friend. However, they also did not agree that Wendy was the same now as she had always been:
- It’s terrible they called the police on her niece. It’s terrible she needs permission to see her dad on his 93rd birthday. Her family and friends have said the conservator makes it difficult for them to physically see her.
- She does not sound exactly the same. I don’t agree with taking Wendy’s rights away either but let’s not kid ourselves into thinking that nothing is wrong.
- I cannot be the only freakin one that sees and hears that she is CLEARLY not the same.

It seems everyone believes that Wendy should not be so controlled because that is a detriment. Yet, they do not feel she is the same as before so therein lies the problem.
