Shark Tank: Meet The DomeDock Hat Rack
So many people want the sharks to invest in their products or creative ventures on Shark Tank. Not everyone leaves successful but then some items just make sense. Many segments are filmed for the show but not all make it to air. That was the fear for John Giles and his wife, Chelsea. They answered a call for the show in 2024 and filmed their segment in September 2024. The couple left the filming uncertain as to what would happen and if their genius idea would reach an audience. Fortunately, they will be featured on the Friday, March 14th episode but what is their product all about?
DomeDock Hat Rack was spawned from John’s love of hats and how he could not stop collecting them. They were everywhere so the couple needed to develop a solution. That was when John decided to start creating a stackable hat rack in 2019. The best part was they were a creative duo so this was not a hard project for either of them. Eventually, Chelsea went to local markets and that was where she sold the product and spawned an Etsy shop. In March 2022, their product was patented and they even began a Kickstarter campaign to keep it going.

John and Chelsea have turned this into a full-time job and operation but definitely took the chance when Shark Tank posted a casting call. Again, this was late 2024 and they had no idea what would come of this appearance. Chelsea Giles felt that they could do it and was able to see their product on the show. However, when it happened, she admitted it was very “surreal.” It is still unknown if any shark bit when it came to the product but that will be seen soon.
