Dr. Now’s journey to becoming a bariatric surgeon wasn’t as easy as it seemed. The My 600-Lb Life star was born in Iran in 1944. In 1970, he graduated from the University of Tehran with a Doctor of Medicine degree. He later moved to the U.S. in 1971, where he completed a surgical internship at St. John Hospital. Since then, Dr. Now began helping people suffering from obesity, which eventually led to his TV show with TLC.

Is Dr. Now Married Or Single?

Shortly after starting his career in the U.S., Dr. Now met a woman named Delores McRedmond. The two fell in love and later married in 1974. Delores and Dr. Now welcomed three children. However, things fell apart in their marriage, and they ultimately divorced in 2002 after 27 years together. Dolores reportedly took 70 percent of his assets during the settlement. The reason behind their divorce remains a mystery. But many people believe that it was due to Dr. Now’s busy schedule amid his career as a surgeon.

Dr. Now barely shares updates about his children online. But his first child, Jonathan, is widely known as the director and executive producer of My 600-Lb Life. Meanwhile, Dr. Now’s second child, Jennifer, is working as an artist and displayed her artwork at numerous galleries in 2001. Not much is known about his oldest child, Jessica. But her LinkedIn states that she’s currently a project manager in software development.
