Huge Soap Shakeup: Billy Flynn Exits ‘Days’ For New Soap

Where Is Billy Flynn Going?
The news came out today from Soap Opera Digest that Billy Flynn is moving on. He will be leaving Days and going to The Young And The Restless. This is after ten years on Days Of Our Lives, so this is a really big move for him. The character he will be playing is actually a brand new character and not replacing someone that is on the show or has been on it before.
He will start airing on The Young and the Restless this spring. His new role was one that was just made.
Billy Flynn Speaks Out
Billy spoke to TV Insider about the big move and what is going on with him now. Here is what he had to say:
“I am grateful for my years at DAYS; it changed my life in the best ways. I’ve always said these stories we tell are like doing a play, and I’ve spent the last 10-plus years playing this amazing character and telling one of the all-time great love stories. And now I’m excited for this opportunity and to test myself in a new way.”
Now everyone wants to know what this means for the character Chad DiMera and there is no news out yet about this one. Viewers are curious if he will be replaced by a new actor or if the character will be going away forever. Billy has played this role for ten years, starting back in 2014 on the soap opera.
The show did give him their blessing to leave, though. Executive Producer Ken Corda said, “We support Billy as an actor and friend, and wish him nothing but continued success and happiness, personally and professionally. He will certainly be missed in Salem.” It is going to be very interesting to see how this all turns out in the end.
