Gold Rush: White Water Was A Big Hit With Fans
Even in modern times with modern audiences, there is a fascination that the masses share when it comes to searching for gold. This is the case with Gold Rush and Gold Rush: White Water. The possibility of finding a lot of gold is an adrenaline rush for both the miners and the viewers, and it has been something that keeps viewers coming back for more.
Just like the original Gold Rush, Gold Rush: White Water scratches that adventurous itch for audiences. Braving the wilderness and the elements in the hopes of striking it rich is a primal instinct that a lot of people share. So, it’s not a major shocker that this show has been a hit.
Gold Rush: White Water Surprisingly Canceled
It turns out, based on the latest updates making the rounds, that Gold Rush: White Water was officially given the boot and canceled. The program filmed nine seasons for Discovery, first airing in 2018. A ninth and final season of the show filmed last summer, and it is currently in post-production.
Based on an email sent out to crew members, Line Producer Jonathan Knapp said in this email: “for now the series is on indefinite pause.” However, in the same email, he also went on to say that Discovery “may look at bringing the series back in some form in the longer term.”
So, while this may leave the door open for something else down the line, at least for now, they are hitting the indefinite pause button on it.

Fans Had Been Rooting For The Show To Make A Return
Even though the door seems to be left open for something potentially in the future, many fans will be disappointed with this news. Previously, before this recent news was announced, a lot of fans took to social media to express their desire for the show to return.
- At that time, one person wrote: “Is White Water coming back? It is my favorite show and always rooted for the crew that showed some grit and determination which was very inspiring.”
- Another person said: “I hope they come back. I don’t care if they find gold and make their money from the show, what they do is just so unique and fun to watch. Gold is a bonus, the show is the real value.”
Unfortunately for fans of Gold Rush: White Water, this is not good news, and they won’t get to see the rest of these adventures continue, at least for the moment.

Bummer that Gold Rush: White Water’s ending! 😭 I love all the Gold Rush shows, but this one’s my fave. ❤️ What makes it so great is Dustin’s awesome team—they’re all such hard workers and good friends! That is my favorite gold rush show also. I really do not like the discovery channel. They are constantly cancelling shows and without an ending or with a cliffhanger. The history channel is also notorious for doing this. I think the reason is that they just don’t give a deal about the viewers.
I’m so disappointed. Also, my favorite show.
what happened with Carlos Minor
I do not understand why this show could be anyone’s favorite. 1. The other Gold show, Rick, makes millions. White Water pennies. Who is the minor here? 2. On the other Gold show companies throw away the top soil. White Water feeds it through an 8-inch pipe. Who is the minor here? 3. On Bering Sea Gold, they also make millions. Who isn’t a Gold minor?
These miners are the bravest out of all the Gold Rush Series. Too much hard work for such little reward Saying that. Me I would sell everything buy a claim in Nome and buy the largest Excavation Barge that I could afford
Gold Rush Whitewater was always crazy.
They basically never found much gold. Each of the guys made a few thousand dollars for months of work plus salaries from Discovery.
They’re in Alaska. They could have found more gold with a 3 foot $100 sluice box along any creek or river bank. It would have been more exciting for them to actually find gold!
I like Whit Water more than the other GoldRush shows. I can better identify. Bring it back. I’ll take this one over the others.

Gold Rush White Water was the best version of Gold Rush. They should have kept it on the air and cancelled Gold Rush.
Man this is REALLY DISAPPOINTING! I think White Water was the best of all the gold shows. Every year I looked forward to is after the regular Gold Rush season ended. I am very upset by this news.
I ended up loving the white water show better than anything else, this lovely group of enthusiasts did the most outrageous things on a budget not including miljon $ dozers or equipment that make it impossible for us regular people to feel involved. Instead these guys did it in a way we all could feel very much involved and attached to.
I really hope they will be back on the screen, if not -I will still root for them and hope they are successful in the future.

I watch a very limited amount of television, but enjoy regularly watching Gold Rush Whitewater (along with Gold Rush and Oak Island). These shows highlight real people doing something authentic that includes challenges, relationships, problem solving, hard work, goal pursuit, history, and wealth. Whitewater adds adventure and connects on a basic level with everyday people. I like this show better than 95% of the other shows on Discovery because it’s a new adventure and I want to find out what happens.
Gold Rush Whitewater, I love it and this one’s my fav’. ❤️ What makes it so great is Dustin’s awesome team. Dustin sometimes is a bit overbearing but through the show, it shows how you can work out issues and communicate problems to smooth them all out. Most of the time, they do work well together and that makes a team. Even with differences, they still work towards a set goal and success. “White Water” was the cream on the top! Our grandkids have loved it with us from the beginning. They have learned so much from this show. Please … this show offers so much. I hope it will be not be replaced with something less smart than WW. THINK some more please.
Have been watching Gold Rush White Water since the 1st show hope they will bring the show back. The whole crew is amazing and the show is exciting to watch not knowing what/if any gold will be found. It’s like watching a thriller. Everyone on the White Water team are amazing talented at what they do. It helps that they are also friends almost like family.
LOVE THIS SHOW, Should last at least as long as Mash did, will never get tired of it.
oh, what a bummer if WW does not return. the question is Why? is the film crew worn out?, did Dustin have to give up his Nugget Creek claims?, do Wes and Paul want to step away?, how is Dustin’s hand injury?, oh no!!!!! this is one of the few shows that I watch anymore bc it’s so intense and refreshing to see their ingenuity and problem solving skills. I’m sad now.
This latest season was getting old with the constant talking about if they don’t strike gold it will be over, isn’t that true with every risky endeavors…. If it does not come back oh well plenty of other stuff to watch.

I’ve watched this show for years because it’s about man versus nature—the thrill of the hunt, the struggle, and a team of “brothers” working together to overcome impossible odds. That kind of unity and creative problem-solving is inspiring.
But what’s becoming harder to watch is Dustin. His lack of real leadership has always bothered me. No matter how hard the team works, it’s always “I did this,” and “I found that.” There’s rarely a “we,” and it really exposes a self-centered attitude that’s tough to ignore.
Lately, the constant complaining about money has taken it to another level. Yes, we understand he’s risking everything—but let’s be real, Discovery is paying him to be there. Many of us tune in to escape our own financial stress, not to be reminded of it by someone who’s actually getting a paycheck to dig gold on TV.
It’s starting to feel like the same kind of negativity we saw with Kevin Beets and his siblings—disrespecting their father instead of appreciating the chance to learn from him. Dustin should take a step back, recognize the value of his team, and show a little gratitude. None of this would be possible without the loyal friends who have stood by him or without the support of the network. After all this time, he will be remembered as a small, bitter man, which is really too bad. we ALL want the hero!…. Where are you?
In a nutshell: I used to love this show. But if Dustin can’t shift his perspective, maybe it’s time it ends—because honestly, the negativity is just too much.
Dustin has become such a nasty person that I’m not surprised to see the show cancelled. He’s gotten increasingly lazier and whines about every little boo boo. He’s hurt his finger so he isn’t diving but expects the rest of the crew to take up his slacking. He treats his crew like they are nothing but the hired help rather than the friends who have stood by him for years. The rest of the crew works great together but Dustin definitely puts a black cloud over the work. I’m sorry to see Carlos and the rest of the gang go but Dustin can just leave his nasty self in town.
No no no dont do it!! You’ll be making a huge mistake. You will lose many viewers from all Gold Rush shows. It makes the other gold rush show look like Childs play!! It’s easy to dig in the dirt, not so easy to do it in the wild white water!!
Do us all a favor and keep it on TV!!
I’m sad to learn that they are canceling White Water Gold Rush. It’s definitely been one of my favorite shows. I’m so inspired by the dedication & hard work these people put into getting the gold. They are truly amazing. I hope the “indefinite pause” is released & that they come back. Such an awesome crew!!!
Gold Rush White Water – same miserable failure, different year. Every year those guys work their asses off for BUPKISS. The show is played. The rest of the Gold Rush shows are okay, though the novelty has worn off.

They are losers, they will lead us on they hope that they find something, but it will end in loss. Dustin has always been a jerk from the days he was working with Fred. It was a shame how he disrespected Fred and now he is disrespecting his men. His crew are awesome and don’t deserve his failed disrespecting non leadership. Get rid of him and do the show without him.
Well, Dustin was and always has been the most conceited Butt**** person and a terrible leader BUT the rest of his team made it all real.
This group took on what I think is the most challenge of any of the reality shows on tv.
I really do hate to see it go.
At least give us fans a followup show on what has happened to each member of the crew. The crew and fans deserve this. Discovery used to be one of my most appreciated content providers, here lately they have become one of the worse when it comes to treatment of people who watch their shows. Pretty sad.

I have NO idea what Discovery’s budget was for each season of WW, but, surely, this last season exceeded it! Part of the contract with Dustin had to be a share of the gold haul to recoup the massive expenditures, and, after 9 seasons with virtually no success, Discovery had to pull the plug. If they are smart, (and I believe they are!) they will concoct a new show with Carlos in the lead. Dustin and his arrogance have definitely run its course.
so it’s over then,let’s all watch the political shows instead , that’ll be fun , discovery you have a down to earth show ,no movie Stars just down home people trying to make it rich ,time to unload my subscription then.

Every miner Knows,You don’t mine the Outside edge of a Bend..if he looked, and mined 30yds Across on inside of the bend,No flooding,and Gold!! This is completely stupid on your part not to bring back the most Compelling Crew that looks for Gold on any of your series.
This is not the right move for your network and fans, and your lack of judgement on renewing this series is a complete lack of incompetence.
