Elder Abuse Case Opened Amid Wendy Williams’ Hospitalization

Wendy Williams’ current guardianship and her life in a New York facility has made headlines over the past few months. Williams herself and loved ones have notably been speaking out about her current situation. Notably, an inside source has also made claims about the story, sharing allegations of elder abuse.
The Former Talk Show Host Was Recently Rushed To A Hospital
Williams is known for her work as a talk show host through her namesake series, The Wendy Williams Show. However, she has since retired from public life and was placed under a guardianship after she was allegedly diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.
Williams is also currently living in a New York assisted living facility. However, Williams has spoken out about her situation in recent months, leading to questions about her condition.

As noted by The U.S. Sun, Wendy Williams had been hospitalized in part of an “elder abuse” investigation. This allegedly followed Williams’ guardian sending her to Miami without money.
Speaking with the publication, an inside source shared that Williams was sent to the hospital on Monday. This followed an Adult Protective Services case opening up on her case last week.
As previously reported, Williams was taken to a New York City hospital this past Monday, with the star notably dropping a note outside a window beforehand. At the time, it was noted that police helped escort her to an ambulance.
An Inside Source Also Made Claims Concerning Wendy Williams’ Recent Trip To Visit Her Father
The publication noted that this was part of the investigation concerning the Adult Protective Services case. A statement was also shared by the NYPD: “On Monday, March 10, the NYPD responded to a welfare check….EMS responded and transported a 60-year-old female to an area hospital for evaluation.”
The source claimed that Williams’ “civil rights and liberty are being denied.” It was also claimed that Williams’ guardian was accused of “elder abuse.”

As previously reported, Williams was recently allowed to visit her father in Florida for his birthday for a two-day excursion. However, the source claimed her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, sent Williams to Florida without money.
As the source claimed, “The guardian gave her a credit card with no funds when she went to Miami. During her trip to see her father in Miami last month for his birthday, the credit card given to her by Sabrina was declined.”
“Someone else had to pay for her purchases. And that’s elder abuse. Meanwhile, the guardian is spending all her money hiring lawyers to defend herself and squandering Wendy’s money on legal fees.”
As the publication noted, Morrissey is currently involved in a legal battle with Lifetime over the Where Is Wendy Williams? documentary. She has her own attorney representing her, although it’s unclear if they are other legal battles in which Morrissey has hired counsel concerning her guardianship with Wendy.
It had also been noted that Williams has been very vocal about her current living conditions in the senior living facility. Some claims include being unable to exit her floor, as an elevator requires a key for use.
