‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Ryan Seacrest Blasted For Inappropriate Laughter

Some Wheel of Fortune fans refuse to give Ryan Seacrest a chance and take the time to bash him for everything. Some fans have complimented Ryan on being more personable to contestants than Pat Sajak was. However, many fans also bashed him for this, believing he is not kind enough by remaining upbeat.

Here are the latest complaints about Ryan, with fans bashing him for laughing at inappropriate moments.

Wheel Of Fortune Fans Bash Ryan Seacrest For Laughing

Ryan Seacrest does a great deal to keep the mood light on Wheel of Fortune. When players struggle, he tries to remain upbeat with them. This helps keep players in good moods even when they hit rough patches or struggles. His goal, it seems, is to make sure the players are having fun, whether they win or lose.

However, some fans believe he shouldn’t keep the mood light and should show depression and empathy when a player misses a puzzle. Some fans have posted on social media that Ryan should show remorse whenever a person loses a puzzle, so the show becomes depressing rather than upbeat when it goes off the air.

The commenters were complaining that Ryan tried to remain upbeat and might even “laugh” when he turns over a card that shows the person would have won $100,000 after losing the Bonus Round. Here is a look at what people on social media have said:

  • One person began a thread by saying, “Since Ryan took over, anybody noticed Ryan smiling and pretty much laughing when $100,000 is lost in the Bonus Round?”
  • However, one other fan mocked the comment, writing, “Do people actually lose money from being on the Wheel of Fortune? That sounds brutal. Imagine having to spell out words and phrases with the threat of losing your house.”
  • Another commented on why it is okay for Ryan to laugh, writing, “I see what you mean, but it doesn’t come across to me like laughing at them – more like commiserating, “we have to laugh so we don’t cry,” releasing the awkward moment of the reveal.”
  • However, one other said they think Ryan doesn’t understand. “I don’t think he is in fact happy that they lose, but he’s not great at showing empathy like Pat was. $100k or frankly even $40k is life changing for the average contestant and Ryan acts like he doesn’t understand that.”

Ryan Seacrest Possibly Leaving Wheel Of Fortune?

Fans who hate Ryan Seacrest might have some good news. While Ryan signed a long-term deal with the network, he is out after two years. There are rumors that people at the network want Pat Sajak back. There have also been long-standing rumors that Pat never wanted to leave.

It has always been said that Ryan is very careful about his image, and he pays attention to what people say about him. He has it good on American Idol, where he almost always lifts the contestants up. However, if he sees the complaints coming in, he might be willing to step down and allow Pat to return. Of course, Pat is 78, so there are questions about how much longer he could’ve continued if he had not stepped down last year.

What are your thoughts on Ryan Seacrest on Wheel of Fortune? Do you think his small laughs are insulting, or is he just trying to keep the mood up so the person doesn’t get too down on the missed opportunity? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

  1. I think Ryan Seacrest is doing a great job and I don’t want him to leave Wheel of Fortune. He is ten times better than Pat was. Don’t leave Ryan.
