NCIS Not Returning Until March 24

NCIS fans who are ready for more of Season 22 will need to chill. That is because the next new episode is not going to air until Monday, March 24. The episode that is premiering that day is called “Moonlit.” However, this means there is a three-week hiatus for the final six to eight remaining episodes for this season. Right now, CBS has not shared how many episodes they will air. However, it is expected that there will be 20-22 episodes.

This could be the final break before the remaining episodes which the network has promised will be exciting. In an upcoming episode that should premiere in late April, Brian Dietzen told TV Insider that has recently has worked with a former star of the CBS series who is guest-starring in Episode 18 of Season 22.

Although the actor that portrays Dr. Jimmy Palmer obviously did not spoil who it is, there is a lot of buzz in the fandom about who it could be. Most writers and fans believe it has to be Michael Weatherly and/or Cote de Pablo who are starring in the upcoming NCIS: Tony & Ziva, which just finished shooting.

However, based on Dietzen’s enthusiasm about this return, it has to be someone pretty special. Could it be Robert Wagner, who plays the elder Anthony DiNozzo? Another former character that could be in the “fantastic” category would be Pauley Perrette.  She is one of the most beloved characters in the history of the series. That alone would generate a lot of enthusiasm.

Whatever the case, the network has chosen to give the series a three-week break and then build up to a really fantastic ending to Season 22.

Will NCIS Be Back For Season 23?

Some of the biggest NCIS news in recent months is that CBS has renewed NCIS, Origins, and Sydney for another season. That is fantastic news for fans of these series. Last year was a heartbreaker, as they canceled Hawaii at the last minute. Many fans of the franchise have been disappointed and still want that series to return.
