‘Price Is Right’ Drew Carey Watches Lady Collapse After Huge Loss

Drew Carey was on the stage this week during an episode of The Price is Right when a woman collapsed after a huge loss. Carey is often there when some crazy things happens on the game show, and this moment was right up there as the woman almost couldn’t take the final results in her game.
Here is what happened and how Drew reacted to the shocking moment.
Woman Collapses On The Price Is Right After Huge Loss
A woman was competing on The Price is Right this week, and she played Spelling Bee. The rules of the game are simple. She gets a chance to win extra picks, and she chooses the numbers from the board. If she spells “CAR” with them, she wins a new car.

The woman, Patricia, had plenty of chances to pick the letters. She got enough guesses right to get five picks. This means she just needed three of the five picks to be a C, A, and R to win. However, she also had a chance to give up the chance for the car and take $5,000 in winnings instead.
The woman was smart and chose to give up the car to take the guaranteed $5,000. However, was this smart? As the Instagram share revealed, “What would you have done?” Patricia began to do a little dance on the stage after choosing to keep the $5,000.
However, as she was dancing, Drew Carey began to turn over the picks. They were as follows: R, A, C, C, and C. Every since one sh picked was a letter and she spelled out “CAR,” but she had already given up the chance to win it. Patricia collapsed to the stage as the letters were turned over.
The good news is that she danced again after this, enjoying the fact she was not $5,000 richer.
Was It Better For Her To Take Cash On The Price Is Right?
However, this might have been all for the better. While the car was worth tens of thousands of dollars, she would have needed to pay taxes, dealership fees, and the tag and licensing fees before she could have gotten it delivered. That is not only expensive but a lot of work.

Instead of dealing with the taxes and issues of getting the car, Patricia would be able to take her $5,000, with the taxes taken out for that and whatever she won on Contestant’s Row, and go home with a chunk of change and no other worries.
Fans appreciated her decision as well:
- “I would have gone for it but $5,000 is nice to.”
- “Either way, it’s a win!”
- “Correct choice perhaps. Depends on her situation. She has to pay taxes on it. And if she doesn’t want it – she’d have to sell it.”
