Bringing Up Bates star Katie Bates Clark recently made headlines after sharing the hospitalization of her father-in-law, Michael Clark. According to the 24-year-old mom, Travis’ father underwent open-heart surgery. Katie, Travis, and the Clark family begged fans for prayers during Michael’s dangerous operation. Fortunately, everything went well, and he’s now recovering. But Katie shocked her followers after sharing a horrifying photo of her father-in-law following his surgery. Bringing Up Bates: What Happened To Travis Clark’s Father?
Katie and Travis had to rush to New Jersey last month to visit Michael, who was preparing for open-heart surgery. The Bringing Up Bates stars kept their followers updated about Michael’s condition and even their kids’ efforts to keep their grandfather smiling. The Clark family never revealed what actually happened. But Michael was previously diagnosed with an aneurysm on his ascending aorta.
He then had heart catheterization, which eventually led to his open-heart surgery. Katie and Travis were also glad after learning that the doctors were able to save his heart valve, meaning that he wouldn’t need a replacement using a mechanical valve. Travis also said that his father has been praying to save his heart valve, and they’re glad that their prayers were answered.
Katie Shares Horrifying Photo Of Father-In-Law
Katie Bates Clark recently took to IG Stories to share photos of her father-in-law spending time with her daughter, Hailey. Moments later, Michael showed the massive scar from his open-heart surgery. His chest was opened, and it looked extremely painful. Hailey is also brave enough to stare at it. According to Katie, her daughter immediately brought her teddy bear to make her grandfather feel better after seeing the wound.
The Bringing Up Bates star later revealed that they were already heading back home to Tennessee, and they’re thankful for everything that has happened. She also thanked all the people who had helped and prayed for her father-in-law. She added, “We could feel it and it meant the world to us!”
Bringing Up Bates: Katie Bates Shares Homecoming Welcome For Michael Clark
Katie Bates Clark also shared a clip of Michael’s arrival at his home. He was welcomed by so many members of the Clark family as well as his friends and neighbors. A large group was even holding a sign that said, “Get well soon.” There were also balloons to celebrate his successful surgery. It just shows how much support Michael had during his open-heart surgery journey. Michael is also popular in his hometown due to his family’s band.
But considering his condition, the Clark family band may take some time before getting back on the stage. He’s also a pastor in the IBLP and has appeared numerous times in the Bates family’s show, Bringing Up Bates.
