‘One Chicago’ Taking Lengthy Hiatus, When Will Shows Return?
Nothing is more frustrating than when TV shows take multiple breaks in the middle of a season. Fans watch up to 24 episodes of a show every year, and suddenly, the show stops airing new episodes for a week or more. For the One Chicago franchise, it is about to happen again in March.
Here is when Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD will go on hiatus and when they will return.
One Chicago Show Taking Another Hiatus In March
The One Chicago shows are about to take another break, and it is just the wrong time to do so. Big things are happening on each of the three shows, and now fans will have to wait to see what happens. Chicago Fire, Med, and PD are about to take more time off.
Chicago Fire, Med, and PD will all have new episodes on March 6. However, fans will have to wait to see what happens next. This is stressful because the shows are all in the middle of big things happening. This break disrupts the flow of the seasons’ runs. This is incredibly frustrating since the show has only been back for three weeks with new episodes.
The three shows will not have episodes on March 12. There will also be no new episodes on March 19. Both weeks will have One Chicago reruns. Of course, this is nothing new since the show usually takes two-week breaks around Spring Break time in March. However, it still comes at a bad time for the series. The March 6 episodes all have cliffhangers that leave fans waiting for weeks to see a resolution.
What To Expect From One Chicago Returns?
On Chicago Fire, the hints that someone was going to die actually happened. However, it was not what anyone predicted. Chief Pascal’s (Dermot Mulroney) wife, Monica, is killed in a car accident, leaving him reeling from the moment (via One Chicago Center). He must now figure out his next step to recover from the tragedy.
Over on Chicago Med, the last episode saw Ripley (Luke Mitchell) having a near-death moment and coming to terms with that. There also seems to be something teased about the arrival of Glee’s Jessalyn Gilsig as Ainsley, an actress who played Frost’s (Darren Barnet) mother on the show Nick of Time. However, her arrival shows that Frost’s backstory might have some darkness not previously hinted at.
Finally, Chicago PD’s Chief Deputy Charlie Reid (Shawen Hatosy) is starting to create a difficult environment for Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), and it seems that he is about to become as much of an antagonist for Voight as anyone on the show. The last episode showed that Reid is willing to do anything – no matter how morally questionable – to get justice, making him more like Vought than many might want to see.

I am fed up with the time off of the Chicago shows. They certainly don’t deserve a loyal audience. The arrogance is just too much to allow. I wish people would join me and say, Thats It!! So from this day on, I say goodbye. The next decision is do I cancel Peacock. My answer will probably be yes.
I am paying for something I can’t watch because of this time off stuff. Peacock is gone.
