Hoda Kotb Can’t Wait To See Her Replacement, Will Be Watching
Jenna Bush Hager has worked with several rotating co-hosts on Jenna & Friends. The show, previously called Today with Hoda & Jenna, has had no permanent co-host since Hoda Kotb retired. The network plans to determine who has the best chemistry with Jenna before they name a permanent co-host. As for Hoda, she can’t wait to see who the network and Jenna choose.
Here is what Hoda said about her eventual replacement.
Hoda Kotb On Who Should Replace Her On Jenna & Friends
Hoda Kotb left The Today Show in January, and it has moved on without her. While Craig Melvin has stepped into her main slot nicely, one position remains unfilled. That is the hour when she worked alongside Jenna Bush Hager. For now, her position has been filled by a rotating series of guest hosts.
In a recent interview, when she attended the inaugural Runway for Recovery fashion show in New York City, Hoda talked about her replacement for Today’s fourth hour. “I’m dying to find out who it’s going to be,” Kotb, 60, said (via PEOPLE).
Hoda said she watches the show and has been speaking to Jenna about the possible permanent replacement. “I’ve been talking with Jenna about it,” she said. “I keep saying, ‘Who’s going to be our friend forever?’”
However, even without a co-host yet, Hoda said this has proven to everyone that Jenna is a “mega talent.” She said, “It was always clear to me, but it’s even clearer because now I’m watching her have blind dates every week with new co-hosts, and the common thread is how awesome she is. She’s incredible. So whoever she chooses is going to be great with her.”
Who Should Replace Hoda Kotb On The Today Show?
Of course, Craig Melvin replaced Hoda Kotb as the co-host on The Today Show. However, there is still one segment of the show where Craig did not replace her. That was the hour when Hoda and Jenna Bush Hager used to work together. Instead, Jenna has a rotating list of guest hosts as the network tries to find the perfect match.
Jenna has welcomed co-hosts such as Keke Palmer, Eva Longoria, Taraji P. Henson, Ciara, Ego Nwodim, Scarlett Johansson, and Wynonna Judd. However, many fans have picked out their favorites to see permanently work with Jenna on the show.
The two biggest names that have come up are Justin Sylvester and Heather McMahan. Both would seem to be great co-hosts as their chemistry with Jenna was fantastic on their stints on the show. They are also more likely than people like Palmer, Longoria, Henson, and Johansson, who all have successful careers they wouldn’t leave for a permanent early-morning talk show job.
