Brittany Cartwright Says Jax’s Cocaine Addiction Damaged Their Son
The Valley star, Brittany Cartwright is claiming that her estranged husband, Jax Taylor’s cocaine addiction damaged their son. They share a son, Cruz, who is almost four, and now, Brittany is opening up about how harmful Jax’s addiction was. Keep reading for more on what she had to say.
Brittany Cartwright Says Jax’s Cocaine Addiction Damaged Son
On Tuesday, March 4th, it came out that Jax Taylor has been battling addiction for around twenty years. He admitted to doing cocaine over these years but most fans were not shocked. They had long questioned if something more was going on with him but he only recently shared he had been dealing with mental health issues. Jax was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder after a stint at a treatment center and it gave some insight into his offputting behavior and outbursts. After he confessed to being an addict, he also revealed that he was over 80 days sober which was great to hear.
Unfortunately, his addiction has taken a toll on more than just him. His estranged wife and The Valley co-star, Brittany Cartwright shared it has deeply impacted their son. They welcomed Cruz in April 2021 and she wanted more children. That was not something Jax was ready for and eventually, they parted ways. Their divorce will play out in Season 2 of the hit Bravo series along with Jax entering a treatment facility. At the time, it appeared he was doing it for his mental health. Due to his substance abuse, Brittany is revealing how it impacted their son and it is very sad.
She took to her Instagram stories and wrote a lengthy statement regarding Jax Taylor and his addiction. Brittany Cartwright noted that it has done “irreparable damage” to both her and her son. She added that she would like to be proud of Jax’s sobriety but it will take time and actions. Furthermore, she was not blind and claimed she did try to help her ex but it never worked out. In the end, she finally was able to leave the marriage but it was far from easy.
No One Understands
The one thing about Brittany Cartwright is she has repeatedly said you cannot help who you love. That was her reasoning when Jax Taylor cheated on her with Faith Stowers in Season 6 of Vanderpump Rules. Hence why she did stay with him and could not bring herself to leave. So, after seeing this statement about the impact on Cruz and herself, what did fans and followers have to say? Were they supportive of Brittany or are they over her?

- Despite being Jax we’ve all had someone with an addiction issue and it’s rough. Having said that, I loathe when someone says, “you can’t help who you fall in love with”. The f*ck you can’t.

Some felt that Brittany did not write this message whereas others did think she sounded quite mature. It has not been an easy road but it was also stated that this will make Season 2 of The Valley even better.
