‘Price Is Right’ Player’s Offensive Shirt Stuns Drew Carey

One of the major factors that make shows like The Price Is Right so popular is the nostalgia factor. Many people grew up watching the show with their family members. In turn, they watched the show with their own families, and this type of continuity is rare in today’s world.
While Bob Barker hosted the iconic game show for 35 years, Drue Carey has been at the helm since taking over for Barker, and Drew has been a solid fixture since taking over as well. This is exactly the level of continuity that viewers love to see.
Recent Player’s Shirt Shocks Drew Carey In Game Show Scenes
When it comes to shows like The Price Is Right, and newer game shows like Let’s Make A Deal with Wayne Brady, contestants come to the set wearing all kinds of interesting clothes, and sometimes, even full costumes. As Drew Carey has revealed in the past, players have even stepped up onto the stage while they were drunk or high.
In recent scenes, however, a player named Jeffrey took the stage, with a shirt on that seemed to offend both Drew Carey and his team. The shirt in question features a pic of Jeffrey from when he was a contestant on the show back in 1994, when the legendary Bob Barker was still the host.
The front of the shirt reads: “1994 with the Legendary Bob Barker.” When the player turned around, the back of his shirt said: “2024 with the soon to be legendary Drew Carey.”
Speaking of bridging generations, this contestant showed up on the show twice, with both iconic hosts, thirty years apart. While Drew Carey was left slightly offended by the dig at him, there’s no denying the level of continuity and impact that this game show has when it comes to players like this.
The Price Is Right Host Drew Carey Responds To Playful Jab From Contestant
While no The Price Is Right fans would argue with the notion of Bob Barker being a legend, it seems Drew Carey took issue with the fact that this shirt that this player wore deemed Drew as “soon to be legendary.”
In response to this little jab, Drew Carey said: “Soon to be legendary?” Even announcer George Gray picked up on this cue, adding: “That’s our show! Good night, everybody!”
Drew Carey then dug his heels in with that word, as Jeffrey had the chance to play for a new Hyundai Elantra. Drew Carey said: “There we have ‘soon to be legendary’ Manuela Arbeláez there.” Carey then went on to explain the game that Jeffrey would be playing, and after he finished explaining the rules, the host said: “That was a legendary explanation.”
Unfortunately for this player, he did not end up winning the car in the end.
