‘Family Feud’ Steve Harvey Almost Has Heart Attack On-Air
Family Feud host Steve Harvey has witnessed a lot of wild scenarios during his tenure as the popular game show’s host. However, scenes led to Harvey almost having a heart attack. So, what happened on the game show set?
Family Feud: Steve Harvey Has Seen A Lot During His Time Hosting The Show
One thing about Family Feud that keeps viewers coming back is that they never film the same episode twice. With all of the survey questions and possible answers, there is an endless stream of possibilities for outcomes, and it continues to keep things fresh despite the popular game show being on the air for decades.
When it comes to Steve Harvey at the helm, he has been hosting the show for so long that he has seen so many different outcomes play out. Even so, every once in a while, something shocks him and catches him off-guard, and a situation just like this happened in scenes.
Steve Harvey Asks Wild Survey Question In Scenes
In Family Feud scenes, Steve Harvey read the survey question: “Name a word or phrase that starts with pot.” As veteran game show watchers know, producers regularly sneak these types of survey questions into the lineup because these are the types of questions that are guaranteed to get a rise out of people, and, as a result, produce some interesting answers.
Family members on the show answered Steve Harvey’s question with answers that one might expect, such as “potluck,” which was on the board. Interestingly, other family members said things like “pot roast,” and “pot belly.” While these were certainly good answers, none of these ended up on the board at all.
This is when Steve Harvey turned his attention to the next player, and the host clearly did not expect the answer that was coming next. With only one strike left on the board, a player named Scott loaded up the answer: “I’ll never hear the end of it, but pothead.”
Family Feud Host Nearly Has A Heart Attack
With how long Steve Harvey has been hosting Family Feud, he has certainly seen it all. However, with this recent “pothead” response, it was clearly something that he was not expecting.
Even so, he was still quick enough on his feet to roast this player for this recent answer, saying: “It’s not what you said. It’s the enthusiasm you had. That’s what threw me.” It turns out, this answer was actually on the board. So, this player was certainly onto something.
However, this was only the beginning of the shock. Another player said “pot-tato.” Following this, the host was ready to start walking the other way, but to his shock, the answer was on the board after all. As a result of this, Harvey clutched his chest, feigning a heart attack. While still overcoming his shock, the game show host could do nothing but apologize for doubting this player and their answer.

- A second commenter chimed in, adding: “I legitimately thought that Steve was having a stroke when I first saw the POTato video.”
