‘WCTH’ Star Hints Elizabeth & Nathan Could Get Engaged In Season 12
For the past two seasons of WCTH, Elizabeth and Nathan have been an item. Moreover, Team Nathan has really pushed for a wedding, despite some Hearties calling the relationship “awkward.” However, it now appears that When Calls The Heart Season 12 will end with the couple possibly getting engaged.
Here is why this seems to be a possibility.
Will Elizabeth And Nathan Get Engaged In WCTH Season 12?
WCTH Season 12 is almost done. There are only four episodes left and they promise to be jam-packed. There is the double eagle gold coin, and Ava’s real identity to figure out. However, it appears that there will be some time for a new romance to progress to the next level.
According to Swooon, who reported on the recent Official Hearties Aftershow, one of the When Calls The Heart castmembers indicated that there could be an engagement this season. And it is between Elizabeth and Nathan. Johannah Newmarch, who portrays Molly, was playing a game of Heartship. This is taken after the classic game Battleship. The answers she has to choose from are hit, miss, or classified.
Newmarch revealed that a miss was Jed and Molly on a date, and a hit was Edie working with Lucas and Lee on a cattle-free park. However, when it came to Nathan proposing to Elizabeth, she said, “classified.” She added, “That one’s above my pay grade.”
To add to this, the publication revealed that just recently, Kevin McGarry shared that things could change between Elizabeth and Nathan. “There’s a definite decision that is made that alters the course of their future.”
Also, before the season started, Pascale Hutton did say that she would “love” to plan the Mountie and the schoolteacher’s wedding. Therefore, there seems to be a lot of wedding talk on the Jamestown set.

Hearties Find The Nathan And Elizabeth Relationship ‘Awkward’
While some Hearties have been waiting for the WCTH writers to put Nathan and Elizabeth together, not everyone is on board. That includes Nathan fans. On Reddit, many feel that their onscreen relationship is awkward. Moreover, many think part of this problem is that Erin and Kevin are such good friends. Many feel this has changed the dynamic.
However, some Hearties would like a whole new person to sweep Elizabeth off her feet. They want Robert Buckley to join the Hallmark series, just like he did Chesapeake Shores.
- I personally vote for someone new. Why not bring in Robert Buckley? I am serious too. He’s funny and talented and has fantastic chemistry with Erin and he is not on vacations with her where I think the closeness to his wife Kayla has become a barrier. It really crosses some awkward lines because it seems to take them out of their acting.
- I love Robert Buckley! He’s so *likable*. He was a great addition to Chesapeake Shores and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve seen him in. Would love to see him in Hope Valley
