Rain Brown Defended Over Drug Accusations, What’s Going On?
In recent months, Rain Brown of Alaskan Bush People fame has often been accused of excessive drug use, from both fans and her family. However, fans on social media have recently come to the television personality’s defense. During the discussion, many also touched on why they think Rain is being subject to such claims.
Fans Of Alaskan Bush People Saw Rain Brown Grow Up Before Their Eyes
Alaskan Bush People saw the Brown family try to live off the grid in Alaska. Ami and the late Billy Brown led the family, with viewers meeting them and their children.
On the show, Rain Brown was one of Ami and Billy’s younger daughters. Late last year, Rain tied the knot with Josiah Lorton. With the original show lasting from 2014 to 2022, fans have seen Rain grow up, both on the show and on social media.
On social media, as previously reported, Rain has often been subject to fans accusing her of drug use. Taking to Reddit, however, one fan recently came to Rain’s defense. As they asked, “Why is Rain smoking weed seen as a big deal to fans?”
The fan continued, “She’s 21 now. I get she uses it kinda heavily and uses it while on social media, but people calling her a druggie just for smoking weed is kinda overkill. Is there something I don’t know?”
Another fan came to Rain’s defense in a lengthy post. As they noted, “[Because people] have nothing better to do than judge other ppl they’ve never met.”
“Watching clips of sm1 and hour episodes makes them think they have the right to judge someone else from behind the safety of their screens. These [people] are loved by MILLIONS and this isn’t the place they congregate.”
“[People] don’t even know the half of their real lives NOR will they EVER understand what it’s like growing up the way those kids did. It’s easier to judge them and pick them apart for all the things they don’t like and hyperfocus on the negative.”
However, another fan understood where fans are coming from, noting, “To be fair it is shocking to these fans to see the sweet little girl they watched grow up burn a fatty on SM. Add in the (loser) husband and it exacerbates the problem.”
Some Fans Saw Where Critics We’re Coming From, Others Defended Rain
“Rain is 21 and still behind. Add in the lack of direction, education, and stability. People are really disappointed in Rain.”
This fan also felt that it was too soon to cast judgement on Rain. They mentioned, “As to whether they are projecting regarding the drug use We shall see. Is she just a kid experimenting or she has become nothing more than another television casualty we shall see. Mores the pity, we shall see.”

Many fans shared other similar sentiments. Some showed sympathy for Rain, while others questioned family dynamics. A few other comments included:
- “I feel bad for her really… she’s still so young and was not given a good head start for being a responsible adult. None of them were.”
- “What blows my mind is that they are all cool with each other, besides Noah and rain, except for Matt. I follow them all on TikTok and they never mention him.”
