Producer Steps Up, Finally Talks Wendy Williams’ Horrific Situation

In recent months, Wendy Williams, as well as figures close to her, has spoken out against her current guardianship. Recently, a former producer that worked with the TV personality. Taking to Instagram, the producer also discussed how she feels Williams is doing as of late.

The Producer Worked On Various Talk Shows, Including The Wendy Williams Show

Williams has been living in a New York facility, and placed under her current guardianship, following a diagnosis of aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. This diagnosis has also seen Williams retire from the public life, much to the regret of fans who would like to see the former host of The Wendy Williams Show return to television.

Williams has spoken out about her situation in recent months, with venues ranging from Banfield to the radio podcast series, The Breakfast Club. However, others, including those close to Williams, have also spoken out about the situation.

As noted by Us Weekly, Suzanne Bass, a former producer who worked with Williams over the years on her talk show, recently spoke out about the guardianship. Bass shared her thoughts in a video posted to Instagram.

Bass shared, “You guys have been asking me for years if I’ve heard from Wendy, and what I’m doing to help Wendy.” She noted, “I’m gonna be honest.”

“I hadn’t heard from Wendy in years until last week. My phone rang, and it was Wendy. I cried, she cried, Brendan cried, Jack was home, my oldest, he didn’t cry, but he said I had to work.”

Bass also noted that Williams “sounds fantastic.” She also added she “sounds the best she has sounded in years.”

According to Bass, she has been “learning every day since then more and more about her story, what she’s been through, what she’s going through, this horrible guardianship she’s in. It is horrible and it’s terrifying. And so, #FreeWendy all the way all day.”

As the publication noted, Williams has sparingly made a few outside appearances since her diagnosis. She was, however, allowed to see her son Kevin Hunter Jr. back in August 2024.

Williams was also allowed to attend his graduation the following December. As previously reported, Williams was also recently allowed to attend her father’s 94th birthday celebrations for a two-day excursion.

In addition to The Wendy Williams Show, Bass also worked on other similar talk shows. This also includes Martha and Sherri, which featured Matha Stewart and Sherri Shepherd as hosts, respectively.

In the caption to her video, Bass also wrote, “This…#freewendy.” Many fans also shared similar sentiments in the comments. Some comments included:
