Why Fans Worry Hallmark+ Is Going Down

Hallmark’s movies and shows have won over many fans over the years, whether its their dramas or their holiday features. Hallmark+, formerly known as Hallmark Movies Now, has given fans a chance to watch such programs on demand. However, fans are starting to worry the platform might not be here for much longer.
Hallmark+ Has Worn Different Names Over The Years
The platform has its origins in 2007 as SpiritClips. Obtained by Hallmark Cards in 2012, it became Feeln in 2014 and Hallmark Movies Now in 2017. It then became Hallmark+ in 2024, complete with original series.
Some content developed for the platform includes the Holidazed miniseries, the dating show Small Town Setup, and the holiday-themed talent search series, Finding Mr. Christmas. The Way Home‘s third season was also notably intended for the platform. However, the it ended up premiering on Hallmark Channel, with episodes coming to Hallmark+ after their broadcast premiere.
However, a few Hallmark+ fans are starting to worry that the platform is coming to an end. Taking to Reddit, one fan asked, “Is Hallmark shutting down Hallmark+?”
As the fan continued, “Someone told me to go to Blue Sky- [blogger] Sleepy Kitty moved there. She said that she heard rumblings that Hallmark+ is a disaster. She seemed to indicate it is over with.”

As they continued, “I find that hard to believe. She said that the Ashley Williams’s dating show was all dropped at the same time and there is nothing else new. She has a point.”
Some Fans Shared Their Love For Hallmark+, But There’s Still Room For Improvement
“I am not someone who is going to complain about paying eight bucks to get this channel. But I do expect to get something for it every month.”
In the comments, many fans shared mixed views on the whether this was true. For those that did, some added ideas as to what the platform could do to improve itself.

Like the original poster, some fans worried about losing the platform after they paid for a subscription. Some comments included:
- “I actually liked Johnathan [and] Kimberly’s shows as it was something different. I am on hallmark + because I had movies now. When my yearly subscription runs out I will likely not renew.”
- “I’m not sure about the Hallmark+ application services, I don’t intend to subscribe, but their linear ratings are in a total different ballgame. Streaming is the future, so they may need to recalibrate how they work that platform to achieve a better response.”
- “They should link the checklist to Hallmark Plus and add some other features. The interface is terrible. If they could organize all their movies and tell me if I’d watched them before and how I rated them and then make suggestions. I would like that.”
- “I love H+! I love the full catalogue on demand! I love making watchlists of movies I want to watch in the future! I love that there are no ads! Love love love! Please don’t get rid of H+! (But please do improve the ap; it’s clunky).”
