‘Buffy’ & ‘Gossip Girl’ Actress Michelle Trachtenberg Dead At 39
Michelle Trachtenberg, actress in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl is dead at the young age of 39. The actress was reported to have been found by her mother on Wednesday morning, February 26. She was found in her luxury 51-story Manhattan apartment where she lived. What is known about her sad passing?
Michelle Trachtenberg Passed Away At Age 39
Actress Michelle Trachtenberg who starred in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl also appeared in Harriet the Spy. She is known for a wide range of television shows and films.
In the past, she has made social media posts that had fans questioning her wellbeing. One particular post in January 2024 caught fans’ attention and they were worried about her health. They were saying how frail and thin she looked. Many wondered if she was sick and some even questioned if she was on drugs. She got defensive and said, “Explain to me how I look sick. Did you lose a calendar and not realize I’m not 14. I’m 38. How sad for you to leave such a comment.”
Michelle continued to fire back at trolls and haters. In another post with a selfie, she said, “I’ve received several comments recently about my appearance. I have never had plastic surgery I am happy and healthy. Check yourself haters.”
The news of her death was reported to news outlets such as The New York Post by police sources. She reportedly had undergone a liver transplant in recent months and it is currently believed to have possibly suffered complications from that procedure.
Michelle’s body was found by her mother just after 8:00 am on Wednesday morning. An autopsy will reportedly be conducted to determine her exact cause of death. However, no foul play is suspected and it is believed she passed away from natural causes.
More details about her manner of death will be reported once a report is obtained from the medical examiner’s office. There are no further details at this time.

Michelle Trachtenberg got her big break as an actress when she was a child. She acted in multiple Nickelodeon productions.
Later in life, she became known more for her roles in Gossip Girl and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Fans were hoping to see her in rumored upcoming reboots. In Buffy, Michelle portrayed Sarah Michelle Gellar’s sister Dawn while in Gossip Girl she played guest star Georgia Sparks.
In both series, she quickly became a fan favorite.

Just one week ago, Michelle shared a photo on Instagram and said it was a throwback. Her caption read that she wanted to look like a naughty Tinkerbell. That was her final post.
