‘The View’ Was Joy Behar Arrested? Details

Reports have come out that Joy Behar was recently arrested at an airport. According to claims, the View co-host was held by the TSA. However, sources are weighing in on the story, with a rep for The View discussing the story.
A Video Claimed Joy Behar Had Been Arrested Earlier This Month
Behar is a comedian and television personality best known for her hosting duties on The View. Notably, Behar served as one of the show’s original co-hosts.
In addition, Behar has hosted a few other namesake shows over the years. This includes The Joy Behar Show, Joy Behar Say Anything!, and Late Night Joy.

However, Behar recently became the subject of online rumors claiming she had been arrested at an airport this February. On Feb. 17, the story was notably the subject of a viral video.
The archived video, coming from the ScandalScoop channel, was titled, “Joy Behar ARRESTED at Airport Trying to Flee the Country After $50M Lawsuit — Karoline Leavitt Reacts!” The video proved popular, earning over 1.6 million views spanning three days.
According to Snopes, however, the story was false. The publication even shared a statement from a spokesperson from The View. As it read, “There is no truth to the story.”
In addition, Behar herself indirectly proved the story untrue. She notably appeared on The View the week of her supposed arrest. This included the Feb. 17, 18, 19 and 20 episodes.
The Snopes Fact-Checking Site Went Into Detail About The Story’s Accuracy
Snopes also highlighted other details that dispel the accuracy of the ScandalScoop clip. Notably, the thumbnail image used a fake quote from Leavitt, noting it also used an AI-generated thumbnail.
According to the publication, even the story’s text appeared to have been generated through AI. There also was no video footage of the supposed incident. Despite this, it appeared that online users at the time believed the story to be true.
According to a text description for the false story, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Behar, following remarks from the comedian. This allegedly caused Behar to book a trip to Italy.
As the text continued, “As she attempted to board her flight, TSA and law enforcement intercepted her at the airport, leading to her shocking arrest in front of stunned onlookers. Passengers at the airport described the scene as pure chaos, with some even capturing videos of Behar being escorted away in handcuffs.”
It was also claimed, “The footage of her arrest quickly spread online, sending social media into a frenzy.” However, as previously confirmed by Snopes, there was no footage of the alleged incident.
Further cementing the story’s lack of accuracy, Snopes also shared a few other false stories concerning The View. It had been falsely claimed that Melania Trump won millions in a lawsuit against the show and that Whoopi Goldberg was recently sued by Elon Musk. All in all, it just seems like The View is a popular subject for online rumors.
