‘The View’ Teases New Co-Host In Whoopi Goldberg’s Absence

Whoopi Goldberg took a recent leave of absence from The View. However, the series has teased a new co-host for the time being. Notably, the timing could be an issue, as this comes out as Goldberg is set to participate with a big event.
Joy Behar’s Been Filling In On The View, But She Might Not Be Available For Too Long
Goldberg is a prominent actress and comedian. She is known for her roles in films like Ghost, Sister Act, and The Lion King.
Since 2007, Goldberg has become known to audiences as a co-host on The View. However, she has recently been absent from the show for around a week.

According to Monsters & Critics, Goldberg’s absence was attributed to the flu. Notably, this came out after her red carpet walk for Saturday Night Live‘s 50 Anniversary Special.
For the time being, Joy Behar is taking on Goldberg’s duties on The View. She previously filled in for Whoopi last month while she was in Paris.
However, Behar is about to star in an Off-Broadway show, My First Ex-Husband. Thanks to this, she won’t be able to fill in for Goldberg, as she will need to take time off.
That said, The View might have teased a new co-host. An ABC press release has already teased a few guest stars set to appear on the talk show.
These guests include soap opera star Susan Lucci of All My Children fame, Will Reeve, the son of the late actor Christopher Reeve, and comedian Chelsea Handler. In addition, Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota is said to appear during a political episode.
However, according to the press release, the release also teased another new addition. On Friday, February 28, The View will feature Ariana DeBose as a guest host.
Whoopi Is Sick Just As She Is Set To Present At An Upcoming Event
DeBose is an actress and singer, known for her work on Broadway. Notably, she served as one of the original ensemble members in Hamilton. She later gained greater fame playing Anita on the 2021 film adaptation of West Side Story.
Notably, DeBose appeared as a guest on The View before. At the time, she talked about her time on Hamilton, looking back ten years later.
That said, as the publication noted, Goldberg usually has that day off. However, Joy would still be on hand. It was also noted that Sara Haines could moderate during that time.
At this time, Goldberg’s illness is especially coming out at a bad time for the TV personality. The star was also set to present for the upcoming Oscars in Los Angeles, especially as the event is set for early March.

Monsters & Critics mused that The View might be mixing things up with the hosts. As the publication noted, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin’s contracts have not been set for Season 29.
As previously reported, Goldberg also took a leave of absence from The View for another reason. The star was performing as Miss Hannigan for a touring version of Annie from December 11 to early January.

No, I’ve tried numerous times to watch the show… the negativity that goes on reminds of high schools girls bullying each other. I need an uplift not a plane crash
