Fans have been able to follow the Brown family as they homestead in the Alaska wilderness on Alaska Bush People since 2014. The show focused on following along with the Browns as they established their lives off the grid in the Alaskan wilderness. The reality show has had a successful 14 Seasons on air. The Discovery Channel put the show on hiatus after Season 14, leaving many fans wondering if The Browns would return for Season 15. What’s Happening with the Brown Family Today?
Alaskan Bush People has been on an extended hiatus since December 2022. Many fans have wondered if they will ever see their favorite homesteading family on the screen again. Discovery Channel has not clarified why Season 15 has yet to air. Before the pause, the Brown family experienced the loss of their beloved patriarch, Billy Brown. Billy passed in February 2021. Many fans state that the loss of Billy Brown led to the hiatus of Alaskan Bush People. Fans are eager to see the Browns return for another season.
In 2017, the Brown family left the Alaska wilderness to move to Washington after Ami Brown was diagnosed with cancer. Ami needed to receive treatment for her cancer, and the Brown family’s remote homestead in the Alaska wilderness made it impossible for her to receive the health care she required. The Brown family purchased a 435-acre property in Washington’s North Cascade Mountains. Ami Brown later went into remission. However, she has continued to suffer from poor health.
The Brown children have experienced their share of strife since Alaskan Bush People stopped filming. Noah Brown and his wife Rhain decided to separate after 6 years of marriage. Noah told fans on TikTok that he and Rhain would be going their separate ways. However, he would still be able to see his sons Eli and Adam regularly.
Will Alaskan Bush People Return To Discovery Channel?
Discovery Channel has been noticeably silent about the future of Alaska Bush People. Fans have waited for over 2 years for a new season of the reality hit to air. The network has not yet announced the return of the show. However, Bear Brown took to social media to provide an update for fans. Bear alluded to a potential spin-off series that would be coming out. He shared an Instagram video featuring the Brown family in the wilderness and captioned his video “Alaskan Bush People: Behind the Scenes With Bear Brown.” Mr. Brown continued to explain:
“Over the past year, I have been asked if there will be a new season of Alaskan Bush People, while I can’t answer that question at this time, I am excited to announce, Alaskan Bush People Behind The Scenes With Bear Brown. It’s starting with the first season, I will be talking about both things in front of the camera, and behind it! The first episode is dropping summer 2024. In the meantime, you can stream all the old episodes of [Alaskan Bush People] on [Max].”
Despite Bear Brown announcing on Instagram that there would be a spin-off series in 2024, fans have not seen more of the Brown family beyond their personal social media accounts. The future of Alaskan Bush People is uncertain. The Discovery Channel has not published any details about a spin-off series or the possibility of a Season 15. In the same vein, they have not said that the hit reality series is canceled, so there is still hope for eager fans.
