‘Beyond The Gates’ To Feature ‘RHOP’ Star Karen Huger
CBS is set to unveil its new daytime drama, Beyond the Gates. The new soap is already boasting quite a few notable figures attached, including a few soap opera veterans. Recently, a reality star has been announced to appear: The Real Housewives of Potomac star Karen Huger.
A Reality TV Star Is Making A Soap Opera Debut
Huger has been part of the reality series since its start in 2016. Proving to be a fan-favorite, she has remained a main cast-member on the show, which is currently in its ninth season.
Recently, Hugar was announced to appear in another upcoming project: CBS’ new daytime drama, Beyond the Gates. The series takes place in the ficticious Fairmont Estates, near the Maryland and Washington, D.C. area. Focus is placed on the wealthy Dupree family living in a gated community.
The series is already notable for a variety of reasons. The new series will be the first daytime soap to air on a major broadcast network since Passions in 1999. It also will be the first to feature a predominately African American cast since 1989’s Generations.
Notably, Huger’s appearance on the upcoming soap was revealed during the series’ trailer. As Monsters & Critics noted, this was something reality TV fans didn’t expect.
Fans Likely Won’t Have To Wait Too Long For Karen Huger’s Scenes
According to the trailer, Huger can be seen heading to the soap’s setting, Fairmont Crest. She appears to be a guest for an event hosted by the Dupree family.
Huger even gets a line. As if inviting new viewers into the series, she says, “Welcome to Fairmont Crest,” as she snaps her fingers.
At this time, much of Huger’s role in the series is being kept under wraps. There isn’t much information about her character, or if she is simply appearing as herself.
As the publication noted, Beyond the Gates started filming in Atlanta back in November. This means fans probably won’t have to wait too long to watch Huger’s scenes.

As previously reported, Huger has recently gotten into some legal troubles, being found guilty of DUI charges back in November. The publication noted Huger likely didn’t film her scenes after that happened. This also likely means Huger won’t be on the soap for too long, at least for the time being.
At this time, CBS is going all out to promote the series. Notably, the network is airing a five-part week-long special, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at what will happen on the soap.
