Wendy Williams Happy As She Escapes Nursing Care Facility
Wendy Williams has had a tough time in her life recently. She was placed in a long-term care facility in New York City against her wishes. Wendy was diagnosed with dementia, even though she claims this is untrue. She is fighting to free herself from her guardianship her legal guardian claims her millions of dollars are now gone.
However, in a recent series of photos, Wendy was shown in an airport in Florida and she was smiling bigger than she has in a very long time. Here is what you need to know.
Wendy Williams Visits Family In Florida
A judge allowed Wendy Williams to travel to Florida to visit her father for his birthday. Wendy, who has been in a legal battle to end her guardianship in New York City, was seen in an airport driving around in a motorized wheelchair. She was wearing fuzzy black boots and a matching black coat and was smiling and laughing.
She kept mostly quiet when the press followed her around, but she was also laughing and talking to her aides. She rode her scooter to the black SUV meeting her at the entrance (via TMZ). Wendy even celebrated her temporary freedom when she hit the mall and did some shopping.
She also took a phone call (showing she had her cell phone back) as she got into her car. Wendy is in Miami for her father’s 94th birthday celebration. This is the first time in months she has been allowed to socialize with other people, as her guardian cut her off from all family and friends in New York City.
Wendy Williams To See Son This Weekend
This is a family affair, and Wendy Williams will see her son Kevin Hunter Jr. while she is in Miami. Recently, Wendy said that the reason she is under a guardianship is because he had stolen over $100,000 from her bank accounts without her knowing it.

Wendy said that Wells Fargo reported the issue to the courts and blocked her accounts from being used. This is what led the courts to decide Wendy wasn’t able to manage her own affairs anymore, which led to her being locked away in the long-term care facility.
Wendy said she loves her son, and he is a good person, but he is not good to her. She said all this in an interview for the new documentary TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy. They had to interview her as she stood by an upper-floor window and spoke on the phone because the restrictions around her were too strict.
