Industry Publication Shares Hallmark’s Mistletoe Murders Season 2 Going Into Production

On Thursday, Hollywood industry publication Production Weekly posted Mistletoe Murders Season 2. This is months after the first season of the Hallmark+ mystery series ended on a cliffhanger. This is the series that takes place in bucolic Fletcher’s Grove. Emily Lane (Drew) owns a 365-day-a-year Christmas store. While she seems to fit in with the small town, filling up her coffee at the diner, or joining the local choir, she has a deep secret.

Emily seems to encounter and work with local Detective Sam Wilner (Mooney). The dishy detective happens to be the father of Violet (Riley) who works part-time at Under The Mistletoe, Emily’s store. In Season 1, Emily starts to open up to Sam. However, when things get closer, she leaves the room to put on warm clothes for an evening stroll. That is when he gets a call. What he heard shook him up. He wants to know what Emily is hiding!

The audience has seen some of her Veronica Mars-like flashbacks. Now, fans want to see where this relationship will go. Moreover, fans want to know who Emily Lane really is! Now it looks like Sleuthers will finally find out.

However, it should be noted that Hallmark Media has yet to announce anything about the renewal. That should happen in the near future. However, they still have not announced other movies and series that were in previous issues of the industry publication. In general, the network makes the announcement when they have begun production.

Could Hallmark Air Christmas In July Episode Of Sarah Drew’s Hit Mystery Series?

In addition to the listing on PW, Moviedelic has revealed that Mistletoe Murders Season 2 will start production in the Toronto area in March. This is about three months earlier than Season 1. There could be several reasons for filming earlier. Firstly, they film on the same set as Reacher. They may need to work with that production for this ideal set.

Next, there is the extreme heat. Everyone from the set including Sarah Drew, Peter Mooney, and Ken Cuperus told the Hallmark Mysteries And More podcast how beastly hot it was filming in the middle of summer.

Lastly, Sarah Drew also told the podcast that she would love to do a Christmas In July mystery. Now that would be the perfect Sleuther present.

When Will Mistletoe Murders Season 2 Premiere On Hallmark?

Until Hallmark Media makes the official Mistletoe Murders Season 2 announcement, Sleuthers will just have to guess what the network has planned. It seems likely that they will air these holiday mysteries between October and December, during the Christmas holiday, unless there is a Christmas In July mystery.

Next, there is the question of where they will air this. Hallmark+ is no longer premiering scripted content on this platform, only reality shows. Could that mean that Hallmark Mystery will be home to Season 2? That decision may not even have been considered yet. It would be great if Hallmark Media just combined Miracles of Christmas on the OG channel, and focused only on mysteries on the Hallmark Mystery Channel. Mystery fans hate the holiday disruption.
