‘Today’ Savannah Guthrie Blasted On-Air For Dodging Tennis Star
The Today Show co-anchor, Savannah Guthrie, is always so genuine and caring. But she can also call people out at times. However, recently, she was blasted on-air for dodging her friend and famous tennis star who has been a guest on the show.
The Today Show Got To Review Some Super Bowl Ads
Ahead of the Super Bowl, The Today Show co-anchors Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Craig Melvin, and Carson Daly gave America a sneak peek of some of the commercials. They showcased a series of Super Bowl Commercial Kickoff ads to entertain people leading up to the game. Some exciting teasers were Bud Light’s “Big Men on Cul-De-Sac” party with comedian Shane Gillis, Post Malone, and Peyton Manning. Likewise, they also showed Hexclad’s “Unidentified Frying Object” with Gordon Ramsey and Pete Davidson. But just days before the big event, Savannah got a special message from one famous tennis star before he got advice from Sesame Street star, Elmo, in the game day commercial.
Savannah Guthrie Blasted On-Air For Dodging Tennis Star
Before playing the ON commercial, Carson Daly lets The Today Show anchors know that it came with a special message just for Savannah Guthrie. Then, a video clip pops up with famous tennis star, Roger Federer. Immediately, he blasts Savannah for trying to dodge him. He said, “Hi Savannah, I hope you’re doing well. It’s a long time since we haven’t seen each other. Are you avoiding me ever so slightly? I’m not sure.” But he did it with a huge smile. But Savannah’s jaw dropped in shock after hearing the allegations she was giving him the cold shoulder.
But Roger Federer continues by saying, “Look, I’ve been with ON for some time now, as you know, and a lot of people still mistake it for QC. Which I’m surprised to hear. Now, I went to get some help from this furry little friend of mine, and he’s ultra famous and super cute.”
He also let Savannah Guthrie and her co-hosts know they were the first ones to see it. Likewise, he politely invited Savannah to join him in Switzerland. Then, Savannah apologizes to her friend and says she is booking her airline ticket “right now.”

Savannah Guthrie Cheers Roger On
After Roger Federer’s message to Savannah Guthrie, Carson Daly adds, “Wouldn’t it be great if that was just a Super Bowl ad.” Additionally, Savannah gives her friend kudos, “Good job, Rog. See you in Switzerland.” Carson asks if Savannah’s husband, Michael Feldman, would go on the trip to see Roger. Savannah is confident he would. She says, “Of course. Rog likes Mike better than he likes me, like most of you.” They have been friends with Roger for many years. Additionally, they like to cheer him on during his tennis matches. Furthermore, Savannah’s mom, Nancy Guthrie, has also met her pal, Rog. She shared on Instagram, “And mom got to meet him too.”
