‘Southern Charm’ Venita Aspen ‘Shattered’ By JT’s Lies
Southern Charm star, Venita Aspen admits that she is “shattered by co-star, Jarrett ‘JT’ Thomas’ lies this season. He appeared to really care about her and wanted to start something with the fashion influencer, content creator, and model. Unfortunately, things took a dramatic turn and now, Venita is trying to compartmentalize her feelings in the aftermath of it all. Keep reading for more details.
Venita Aspen ‘Shattered’ By JT’s Lies
Before any feelings came out for Jarrett ‘JT’ Thomas, Venita Aspen was dating a man named Manny. They seemed relatively happy and then it ended. For JT, that was a good thing as he and Venita began to connect. The writing was on the wall at the Southern Charm Season 9 reunion. Venita and JT got closer than they had before and she found him very attractive. Admittedly, he had feelings for their co-star, Taylor Ann Green but she kept him in the friendzone. As seen in the Season 10 previews, JT and Venita appeared to be sparking a real romance and it was a shock.
She was so fun and fashion-forward that it did not make any sense why she would be interested in JT who was a hot mess. However, they gravitated toward one another and soon found themselves hanging out all of the time. They went shopping and his mother loved her, almost wanting her as his partner. Finally, Venita made her move and invited him over for dinner. That was when he shared that he had a girlfriend but he made it seem like Venita may have been aware that someone was in the shadows. Yet, it was now something more serious and he did not want to lead Venita on.

That left Venita Aspen “shattered” and according to People, she struggled to wrap her head around the heartbreak. She immediately called close friend and co-star, Leva Bonaparte to share what transpired and did not believe JT was off the market:
“JT can’t possibly have a girlfriend. We’re around him all the time. You would think of all this time we’ve spent together he would be like, ‘So I started dating somebody.’ But like, he’s never said he has a girlfriend.”
Had Venita known, she would have stayed quiet but she is still hurt, regardless:
“I definitely feel like a little piece of my heart’s kind of like, shattered.”
Better Off As Friends
Venita Aspen had to conclude that she and JT were just better off as friends no matter how much it hurt. She did believe she got mixed signals from him but onward and upward:
“It’s just like, oh you know, I thought that, okay, JT actually likes me. But like, okay, we’re not crossing lines. We’re going to be friends. Like, this is where were the best at is being friends.”
After Southern Charm fans saw the scene between the two of them, there were mixed feelings. They did not understand how Venita could be crushed by JT. Yet, they also felt for and her pain:
- I need a tell-all from JT’s ex wife bc you know she’s got stories to tell
- There is just something that is so off with this guy
- I have not seen one spark . I feel like she has been looking for a connection but I feel it’s for the show and to have a story line
- I am so annoyed with Venita! GIRLcome on with this Hobbit
Many believed that this was all for a storyline and that may be true. Regardless, Venita was hurt by JT but it only gets juicier as the season goes on.
