Wendy Williams Makes Plea Over Lifetime Lawsuit

Over recent months, Wendy Williams has been the subject of controversy concerning her guardianship and her guardian’s legal battle with Lifetime and A&E. In a recent interview, Williams herself weighed in on the lawsuit. In fact, Williams even had surprising words for Lifetime.
Wendy Williams Recently Spoke With The Breakfast Club
Following her diagnosis with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, Williams has been placed under a guardianship, amid retiring from public life. During this time, her conservator is Sabrina Morrissey.
Fans had previously come to know Williams from her work as a talk show host from her eponymous series, The Wendy Williams Show. Williams had also been the subject of a Lifetime documentary series, Where Is Wendy Williams?

However, the documentary would soon become the subject of a lawsuit through Williams’ guardian. Through it, Morrissey claimed that Williams was taken advantage of and underpaid for the project. Claims were even made questioning the authenticity of the signature on Williams’ contract.
This past Wednesday, Williams called into the radio podcast series, The Breakfast Club. As noted by The Blast, the lawsuit became a topic of discussion between Williams and Charlamagne Tha God.
After being asked to remind viewers about the suit, Williams noted, “The lawsuit was that four-part thing starring me on TV, which I only watched once, and I will never watch again in life. It was disgusting, and by the way, I watched it with my guardianship person.”

Williams also criticized her current guardianship and felt her current condition has been exaggerated. As she noted, “I am not incapacitated. I am not a baby. But I guess for Lifetime A&E, I stand to win all that money, so I’m supposed to be a blubbering idiot.”
During this conversation, as previously reported, Williams also denied the authenticity of her diagnosis. As she shared, “I don’t have frontotemporal dementia, you know what I’m saying. It’s disgusting. That is a very rare thing for anybody to have.”
Williams Also Talked About Working With The People At Lifetime
Charlamagne then noted, “So what you are saying, Wendy, is that the lawsuit that was filed by Sabrina Morrissey, acting in her capacity as your guardian. She brought a lawsuit against A&E and claimed that the contract the company brokered to shoot the documentary wasn’t valid.” It was claimed this was done “since ‘Williams’ didn’t have the legal or mental capacity to authorize your participation in the title at the time.”
Williams responded, “Listen, I have to tell you something about my life… I haven’t had liquor in years now. Yes, who doesn’t go through problems in their life? Divorce, this that…then all of a sudden, I got involved with this guardianship person, a judge, attorney…”
During this time, Williams also admitted she didn’t want a part in the suit. As she shared, “I’ve been in this guardianship for this long amount of time, and now A&E, Lifetime, this lawsuit, please. I don’t want that, I don’t want a dime from that, I don’t want any part of that.”
In fact, Williams had positive things to say about the people working at Lifetime, even giving them a “shout out.” She even shared, “They’re good people to me, and I would love to do business with them again.”
