HGTV’s new series The Flip Off has brought in audience members all over the world. Many are eager to see Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack work together again for the first time since Flip or Flop ended in 2022.

But with all eyes on The Flip Off, Tarek and Heather El Moussa’s other series seems to be floundering. Can they win their audience members back? Or is their show doomed to fail?

Heather & Tarek El Moussa Want To Keep The Flipping El Moussas Alive

The Flipping El Moussas kicked off its second season around the Christmas holidays. While fans love seeing the blended family work together and pursue their real estate dreams, it’s just not drawing in the same viewership.

In the season premiere, serious construction disruptions put a damper on Tarek and Heather’s holiday celebrations. And if they can’t find a way to pull numbers up, they may run the risk of losing the show too.

The Sun reports that “audiences tuned in to see the exes reunite, as The Flip Off brought in a solid 874,000 viewers on January 29, making it HGTV’s fourth highest-rated show.”

But sadly, the same can’t be said for Tarek and Heather’s show.

“[The Flipping El Moussas] season premiere on December 26 brought in just 631,000 viewers,” The Sun continues. “The highest-rated episode of the season was on January 2 with 753,000 viewers. The lowest-rated episode aired on January 9 with 469,000 fans tuning in.”

What’s Going On With The Flipping El Moussas?

As TV Shows Ace previously shared, audience members feel like they’re not quite connecting with The Flipping El Moussas. In a piece for Collider, author Katrina Anderson breaks down the issues with the show.

“In The Flipping El Moussas, it is clear from the state of the homes when they were purchased that the previous owners were down on their luck. So, without depictions of showing the home to excited prospective buyers, the series risks a predatory feel,” Anderson notes.

HGTV fans love seeing Christina Haack and the El Moussas compete against each other. But can The Flipping El Moussas survive without a feel-good element?

It’s too soon to say, but Tarek and Heather’s series might run the risk of losing out on a third season.
