Christina Haack Shares Memories With Ex-Husband

In the latest episode of The Flip Off on HGTV, Christina Haack shared a surprising detail about her past marriage to Tarek El Moussa. She revealed that Tarek’s mother, Angelique El Moussa, had warned her not to marry him. Even suggesting that she marry the family dog instead. Despite this early advice, Christina and Tarek’s relationship with his mom has remained strong. Christina and Angelique continue to stay in touch, traveling together and talking regularly on the phone.

The episode also shows how Christina used her close relationship with both her mom, Laurie Haack, and Angelique to help her win a competition on the show. Christina invited them both to be surprise judges for the makeover challenge. She was confident that, because of their personal biases, they would support her team. Christina joked about her plan to “sway the grandmas” and ensure victory against Tarek and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. The competition ended up being judged anonymously, so even if the moms had favorites, they would have to choose based on style rather than who made each room.

Angelique Likes Christina More Than Heather?

Although Christina and Tarek’s divorce was a dramatic one, it hasn’t kept them from having a positive relationship today. Their split, which took place in 2016 and was finalized in 2018, included a tense incident where Tarek fled their home with a gun, prompting Christina to call 9-1-1. Tarek later entered rehab. However, despite their struggles, the two continued working together on their HGTV show Flip or Flop until it ended in 2023. Over the years, they’ve repaired their relationship and now consider each other friends.

Tarek and his wife, Heather Rae Young, have also supported Christina through difficult times. After Christina’s recent breakup with her third husband, Josh Hall, Tarek and Heather publicly expressed their continued support. Tarek told Acess Hollywood in December 2024 that they were always there for Christina, especially when it came to co-parenting their children.
