‘Price Is Right’ Contestant Refused To Shake Drew Carey’s Hand

On a recent episode of The Price Is Right, Drew Carey offered a contestant a handshake after the game, but the contestant refused. Instead, they wanted a handshake from model, Rachel Reynolds and thanked her instead of Drew. But why would the contestant do that? Keep reading to find out.
Contestant Raymond Plays It Safe
A recent episode of The Price Is Right featured a funny and awkward moment when a contestant named Raymond bypassed host Drew Carey’s handshake in favor of shaking hands with model Rachel Reynolds instead. This moment happened during the popular game “Punch A Bunch,” where contestants try to win cash prizes by guessing whether the prices of items shown are higher or lower than a given value.
Raymond had done a great job guessing the prices of four times, a stress ball, ankle weights, a Cuisinart ice cube maker, and a steeping spoon, and earned four punches on the punch board. Each punch revealed a cash amount, such as $250 or $2,500. After seeing his third card with $2,500, Raymond wisely decided to stop and walk away with his winnings rather than risk the last card, which turned out to be $1,000.

Drew Carey Gets Bypassed
When the game ended, Drew Carey congratulated Raymond and offered him a handshake, as is the tradition on the show. However, instead of shaking Drew’s hand, Raymond walked past him and headed straight for Rachel Reynolds. He shook her hand, saying, “Thank you so much,” while Drew laughed at the situation. The moment quickly became a funny highlight, especially as Drew joked, ” Showcase Showdown coming up. Don’t go away,” before the commercial break music played.
Rachel Reynolds has been a part of The Price Is Right for a long time. Joining the show in 2003 as one of the models during Bob Barker’s era. She is currently the longest-serving model on the show and is beloved by fans. Her time on the show includes many memorable moments. Such as, when she accidentally crashed a car onto the stage while driving it for a prize. Despite this, she has remained a fan favorite, often seen with other models. Such as, Alexis Gaube, Amber Lancaster, Devin Goda, and Manuela Arbelaez. Rachel has also appeared on other TV shows such as How I Met Your Mother, Scorpion, and The Bold and the Beautiful.
Because of her long-standing role on the show and her popularity, it’s no surprise that contestants may be more excited to meet Rachel than even Drew Carey. This funny moment on the show is just another example of how Rachel’s charm continues to win over fans and contestants. Would you rather shake Rachel’s hand over Drew’s? Was Raymond smart to play it safe in the game shows, ” Punch A Bunch”? Let us know what you think in the comments.
