Christina Haack talks about her divorce from Josh Hall, and how it impacted her personally and professionally. She also admits she didn’t want to get a divorce from her first husband, Tarek El Moussa. Christina gets emotional when she expresses that Josh was “not kind” to her.
Christina Haack Opens Up About Divorce
In the premiere of The Flip Off, Christina Haack opened up about her difficult divorce from Josh Hall which had a major impact on her personal and professional life. Christina and Josh had only been married for a short time before they announced their split in July 2024. Just weeks after filming for the new HGTV show started. Originally, the show was meant to showcase a renovation battle between Christina and her ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. However after Christina’s divorce, Josh was removed from the promotional materials, and Christina decided to bring in guest stars for the home flipping projects.
In the first episode, Christina broke down in tears as she told Tarek about her split from Josh. She even revealed how their relationship had been troubled for a long time, with her kids even asking her to leave because they said Josh was not nice to her. Christina explained how Josh made her feel insecure, especially when she would have friendly interactions with Tarek, which would cause Josh to give her the silent treatment. Tarek comforted Christina, reminding her that she was a good person and that Josh’s behavior was his own issue.
Christina Never Wanted To Leave Tarek
Christina Haack reflected on the struggles she has faced since her divorce from Tarek in 2016. She admitted that she never wanted to divorce him and that she got into another relationship with Josh because she felt it was safer than being single. Tarek reassured her that he understood her feelings and admitted that he had contributed to the hardships she faced. The emotional conversation ended on a positive note, with Tarek vowing to always support Christina.
Meanwhile, the competition between Tarek and Heather over the renovation project adds tension to the episode. Heather feeling the pressure to prove herself, got into an argument with Tarek over the kitchen design. Tarek didn’t like some of Heather’s choices, but she defended her decisions, arguing that the house needed to take risks. Despite the conflict, their kitchen design was eventually declared the winner by guest judge Heather Dubrow, although she hinted that Christina might come out on top overall.
Heather, however, wasn’t completely satisfied after hearing how impressed the judge was with Christina’s work. She admitted that she felt a lot of pressure to prove that she was better than Christina, hinting at some ongoing rivalry between the two women. The episode set the stage for more drama and competition as the season progresses.
