‘Wednesday’: Netflix Releases First Look At Season 2

Fans of Netflix’s Wednesday have been anticipating the release of its second season. Recently, Netflix gave fans a tease of what to expect during the series’ return. In the clip, viewers were also taken into the world of a few other Netflix series.
A Woman Found Herself Down The Rabbit Hole Into Nevermore Academy
Jenna Ortega stars at the title character in the Netflix series, which premiered in 2022. Based off the Charles Addams character, the series sees Wednesday Addams expelled from her school and enrolling at her parents’ alma mater Nevermore Academy.
While there, the stoic Wednesday encounters other students of otherworldly origins. However, darkness looms in the shadows as she gets involved with a local murder mystery that might be connected to her family.

On January 30, as noted by People, Netflix gave a hint at the series’ second season as part of a promotional sizzle reel. The video features Wednesday alongside other titles set for streaming in 2025.
In the video, a woman tries to stream Stranger Things during a work meeting. However, she soon finds herself inside other Netflix series. This includes Squid Game, Emily In Paris, and Black Mirror.
Jenna Ortega Appears As Wednesday & Pays A Visit To Willowhill Psychiatric Hospital
At one point, the woman appears dressed like Wednesday Addams, complete with a Nevermore uniform. She even has Thing, the famous living hand, by her side as she goes exploring.
Thing even tosses the woman a book. This soon gives the woman a vision of what’s to come on Netflix. Naturally, the first clip appears to be from Wednesday.
Wednesday, now played by Ortega, appears at Willowhill Psychiatric Hospital, where Tyler Galpin’s mother was admitted. Inside the hospital, she finds Tyler chained to a wall. The vision ends, with the woman appearing in other shows.
As previously reported, back in September, Netflix previously released a teaser trailer promoting the second season. At the time, the teaser mostly featured various members of the cast and crew working on the show. Actors from the series appeared as their characters.
Catherine-Zeta Jones, appearing as Wednesday’s mother Morticia, teased, “This season is going to be bigger and more twisted than you can ever imagine.” Ortega’s Wednesday also muses, “If we showed you anymore, your eyes would bleed. And I’m not that generous.”
Back in August, in a statement with Variety, Ortega herself also hinted at what the series’ second season will be like. As she shared, “I think the feel that we’re going for is a little bit more horror-inspired.”
“Not to say that suddenly we’re the goriest show of all time. I mean, there’s six-year-olds watching. We’re doing this thing now where Wednesday just kind of appears. She is a little bit of a jump scare herself.”
At this time, the second season of Wednesday is set to premiere in 2025. For the time being, the first season is also available for streaming on Netflix.
