Michael Strahan Returns To ‘GMA’ After A Week Of Absence

Michael Strahan has stepped away from Good Morning America for the past week, but he has returned just in time for the NFC Championship game. His daughter has been dealing with a sickness that Strahan will be talking about later this week on The View.
Technical Difficulties During The Show
Michael Strahan and his Fox NFL Sunday co-stars, including Terry Bradshaw, Rob Gronkowski, and Tom Brady, experienced serious audio issues during their live broadcast of the NFC Championship Game. The two teams playing against each other were the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders. While discussing pre-game topics, their microphones were randomly cut out, causing awkward silences and leaving viewers frustrated.
The problem began during the analysis of the upcoming game. Bradshaw’s microphone cut out multiple times while he was talking about the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs. At one point, he mentioned players like JuJu Schuster-Smith and DeAndre Hopkins. Only to have his mic go silent for several moments. After Bradshaw finished speaking, Gronkowski took over the conversation, but his mic was also muted at times, preventing his comments from being fully heard.
Strahan’s mic had similar issues, with his commentary cutting in and out during his turn to speak. The audio glitches were noticed by viewers, many of whom took to social media to complain. Some fans pointed out that the production problems had been happening for multiple weeks.

Michael Strahan’s Daughters Sickness
Despite the technical issues, the Fox NFL Sunday team continued with their coverage. Including a playful segment where Strahan, Gronkowski, and Brady played a mock football game on the field. Brady even rushed over to pretend to tackle Strahan, and Gronkowski dived to grab the football. While this segment was fun the audio issues continued to be a distraction.
Michael hasn’t appeared on Good Morning America for over a week. Did appear on Fox NFL Sunday for the NFL playoffs. Fans are eager to see him back on ABC’s The View later this week, where he will discuss his daughter’s cancer battle ahead of an ABC News special. His daughter Isabella Strahan is undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a rare cancerous tumor that arises in the brain. The tumor is found largely in children and is located at the base of the skull.

With Super Bowl 59 coming up on February 9, 2025. Fox will need to fix these audio glitches before the biggest game of the year. The network will be hoping to provide a smoother broadcast for viewers when they air the highly anticipated game from New Orleans. Are you hoping to see Michael talk about his daughter’s cancer update? Who do you want to win the Super Bowl? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
