‘1923’ Cast Promises Season 2 Worth 2-Year Wait
The Yellowstone prequel series 1923 is set to release its second and final season. Many of the cast members, including Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, recently gave fans hints on what to expect. The series’ stars promised the new season, which fans had to wait two years for, will have dangerous threats and powerful journeys.
The Second Season Of 1923 Is Set For This February
1923 is a Western drama that serves as a prequel to Yellowstone. The series is known for its prominent cast, which includes Dame Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford. As a spin-off of Yellowstone, the show serves as a sister series of sorts to the earlier 1883.
The series premiered its first season in late 2022 on Paramount+. A few months later, it was announced that it would be renewed for a second and final season, set to air two years later in 2025.
Many of the cast members recently spoke in a video released by People about the upcoming season. During the conversation, they assured fans it would prove to be worth the two-year wait.
Mirren herself opened up the dialogue by sharing, “It took a long time to get here, you know. It’s been 2 years.” The actress was also said to be sitting alongside Ford, who plays her onscreen husband on the show.
One Of The Series’ Stars Promised ‘Fans Will Go Berserk’
In the series, Ford and Mirren play Jacob and Cara Dutton, who serve as the patriarch and matriarch of the Dutton family, respectively. The series sees the family through various historical events, including Prohibition and the Great Depression.
Julia Schlaepfer, who plays Alexandra in the series, shared that the upcoming season would be “very, very emotional.” She similarly admitted, “Taylor [Sheridan] sent me the scripts and I was weeping.”
Brandon Sklenar, who played Spencer Dutton, agreed, sharing, “He really brought it with his writing. He always does, but this just feels like a whole other level.”
Ford also added, “It’s a treasure for an actor to read this kind of stuff.” The actor also hinted that the Dutton family will face a “tremendous threat at home.” Mirren followed on this, noting their characters will face a “particularly awful winter.”
Sebastian Roché, who plays Father Renaud, promised “multiple shocks this season.” He continued, “It’s very romantic, adventurous, exciting. There’s a real journey – for all the characters. It’s about the physical journey, but also the emotional, psychological journey. The fans will go berserk for it.”
Ford also promised, “There’s a storm a-coming and we know it. “There’s nature and mankind. And if nature won’t get ya…” Mirren then finished his sentence with “Mankind will.”
