Shakyia had one of the most horrifying pasts in Season 12. The My 600-Lb Life was a victim of s*xual assault and lived in foster care. As a result, Shakyia grew up in an unhealthy lifestyle, leading to her morbid obesity. During her episode, Dr. Now asked Shakyia to lose 50 pounds to qualify for bariatric surgery. But when Dr. Now was about to check on her status, he learned that his patient suffered from respiratory failure. Shakyia ended up in a walker and a ventilator. By the end of her episode, she could only drop 21 pounds.

Despite her difficulties with losing weight, Shakyia Jackson recently took to Facebook to share a photo of her surgery schedule. The My 600-Lb Life star captioned, “Who can’t get the surgery 👀👀👀 . Ohkay That’s What I Thought.” She didn’t exactly share what type of surgery is she going to get. But many fans believe it’s related to her physical journey.
