Married at First Sight fans have largely been on David Trimble’s side since the experts put him with Michelle Tomblin in the Season 18 return to Chicago. However, fans are starting to turn on David following a recent lie. So, what happened with this situation, and what are viewers saying about it?

While David Trimble has his faults, just like anyone else that Lifetime casts for the marriage matchmaking show, the vast majority of viewers have been on David’s side. This is because David was paired with one of this season’s villains, Michelle Tomblin.
As viewers have seen over the course of this Married at First Sight season, Michelle put a target on David’s back as early as her wedding day. She could not get over the fact that he still lived with his parents, and this was something that she could not get over, which became a sticking point.
As a result, it bled into every other aspect of their relationship, and the more David tried, he could never get out of the hole that Michelle put him in.
MAFS: David Caught In A Lie In Recent Scenes
In recent Married at First Sight scenes, Michelle Tomblin confronted David about a suspicious text he sent. The text in question was from David, which he sent to Michelle, and it read: “You are so damn fine I just wanna eat U up.”
According to David, this was a reply to a text from his cousin, where he claims she sent him a pic of food. Listening to her “gut,” Michelle believes that David Trimble accidentally texted her, and that this text was meant for someone else.
Married at First Sight fans have not agreed with a lot from Michelle so far this season, but for once, many people are on Michelle’s side on this one, and public opinion is slowly turning on David following this recent stunt.

Just like Michelle Tomblin, most Married at First Sight fans are not buying David’s story of the suggestive text being meant for his cousin. Recently, commenters were not shy about roasting David over this, either.
- One commenter said: “Two things can be true. She’s treated him horribly and he’s so obviously lying.”
- A second commenter chimed in, adding: “I really like David but dddaaaammmnnn man, he could have handled this much better and cleaner! His cousin?!? Like really? Should have just told the truth and not looked this dumb.”
