Robin Roberts Has Embarrassing Moment During ‘GMA’ Interview

Robin Roberts is one of the most tenured and experienced hosts on morning talk shows right now. However, even someone like Robin can make a mistake and look bad in an interview segment. While her recent bungle was edited out of the morning talk show, Good Morning America still released it in a behind-the-scenes footage social media post.

Here is what happened with Robin on GMA this past week.

Robin Roberts Loses Her Placement On Good Morning America

Robin Roberts was about to interview a longtime friend on Good Morning America this week when she lost track of where she was. This was edited out of the segment, so she wasn’t embarrassed on national television. However, it seems that the GMA social media people thought it was a funny (and relatable) moment and shared it on Instagram.

Robin was preparing to interview someone who she called a “longtime friend” in Anne Marie Anderson. Roberts said the two had known each other since her days at ESPN. However, when the interview was about to start, Robin looked around, confused. GMA shared the “bloopers” on social media.

“You think I’d know by now which camera,” Robin said, as she was confused and looking at each of the cameras. Anne then responded, “You want me to produce?” She then pointed at the correct camera, and the interview went on as planned.

Robin Roberts Interviews Friend Anne Marie Anderson

The interview started with Anne Marie Anderson, a three-time Emmy-winning broadcaster. She was on Good Morning America promoting her book, Cultivating Audacity, which she has recently put on sale. When Robin called Anne, one of her “oldest, dearest” friends, Anne asked if she was Robin’s oldest friend.

“No, no, no. We go back a long way. We go back to ESPN and we shared a lot of career firsts together,” Robin said. Anne then revealed that she and Robin had known each other for 35 years. She remembers when Robin started “blowing up” in her career. She said the best part was that Robin didn’t realize it was happening, while those around her saw it coming.

“We just wanted to work and make great television and had a lot of fun all over the world as a result. It was great,” Anderson said.

Robin admitted that she didn’t see her rise as it happened because she was always “fearful” of things. However, Anne said that her book explains that everyone needs “front row people” in their lives when they take risks. She said, over the years, she and Robin have been each other’s “front row people.”
