Candace Cameron Bure Gets Judged For Wildfire Efforts
Actress Candace Cameron Bure has recently gotten involved to help those who have been impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires. However, the star recently fell under criticism for how she’s giving back. Since then, the actress, however, recently defended herself against the critics.
Candace Cameron Bure Was Asking For Donations From Grocery Gift Cards To Chargers
The Full House star recently took to Instagram to call for donations for those displaced by the recent Los Angeles wildfires. In one early post, Bure shared that OpenClosit was receiving all kinds of donations.
At the time, Bure called for “specifically, more men’s and children’s clothing, pet food, phone and computer chargers, and much more.” She added, “Please see my story for specifics.”
In a later post, Bure showed a video containing a list of items. This included things like “replenishment of grocery gift cards via GoFundMe,” in addition to “full size shampoo, conditioner and body wash, new makeup and beauty supplies, moisturizers and skin care.”
However, as noted by Parade, Bure has received some criticism for raising these amenities. As the publication noted, many don’t see the importance in collecting things like “moisturizer and makeup” instead of focusing more on necessities.

Bure herself has recently taken to Instagram to defend these donations against the critics. As she noted, she’s returning to work. However, she will continue to share links and highlights to help her followers donate what they can.
In the caption, Bure noted, “Friends, thank you for caring about Los Angeles. It’s been incredible to watch our city come together in crisis. I wish it were like this all the time.”
Bure Emphasized What People Returning To Work May Need
“I’m continuing to post resources for those needing help and wanting to help. Please check my stories and the highlight bubble I created with links.”
Bure also noted that the criticism broken through the positivity most fans had for her call to action. In particular, she addressed a comment that read, When I heard you ask for donations of moisturizer and makeup I couldn’t believe it,” referring to such products as “the least important thing in a crisis like this.

In turn, Bure felt, “Moisturizer and make up ARE important.” As she noted, “Women still have to go to work, they want to feel like themselves.”
“Don’t be so judgmental as to what other people need in times of crisis. Be kind.”

Bure no longer lives in Los Angelese. However, she was born there and the area has a special place in her heart. As the publication noted, she previously shared, “Our sweet Palisades is destroyed. So many memories.”
