Two Men Sentenced For Connection With Johnny Wactor’s Death
General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor was tragically shot and killed in May 2024. He was walking to his car in downtown Los Angeles when he interrupted three men trying to steal his catalytic converter. At the time of the homicide, Wactor’s brother said Johnny had been working as a bartender at a local bar. He and a fellow female co-worker were walking out together around 3:25 am when they stumbled upon the armed car thieves.
Deadline shared details about two of the men who were sentenced this week in connection with Wactor’s untimely death. One man was not even present when the murder occurred. However, he was charged with being an accessory after the fact. He pleaded no contest in October. Today, Frank Olano, 22, was given five years and eight months in state prison for being an accessory after the fact and receiving stolen property. He was also charged with three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.
A second man, Leonel Gutierrez was sentenced to four years in prison. He plead guilty in September to one count of attempted robbery and grand theft.
More About The Two Men Charged With Murder
There are two other men involved in Johnny Wactor’s death. Robert Barceleau and Sergio Estrada, who are both 18 years old, will return to court on January 22. Last week a judge determined there was enough evidence to send these two men to trial for the murder of Wactor. They both pleaded non-guilty.
They both face murder charges, second-degree robbery charges and one count of grand theft involving the alleged removal of a catalytic converter from another vehicle within a short distance from where Wactor died.
Barceleau also faced other charges as well. New allegations were filed last month against both of them alleging that the crimes took place to benefit a criminal street gang.
