The Today Show co-anchor, Hoda Kotb struggled to get through her last week with her co-workers and the amazing lineup of stars that stopped in to wish her well. While saying goodbye was hard, she won’t be out of sight for long. Correspondingly, she admits she has struck a deal with NBC to live life more like Snoop Dogg.

Hoda Kotb Had A Great Send-Off

While The Today Show won’t be the same without co-anchor, Hoda Kotb on board, she has assured fans she will still be around. Undoubtedly, the last week of “Hoda-bration” was packed with fun and familiar faces. Each guest shared a piece of their heart when they talked about their connection with Hoda. Furthermore, it was bittersweet as Hoda said her goodbyes to her NBC “family.” With some appearances by Gayle King, Kathie Lee Gifford, Blake Shelton, Oprah Winfrey, and even Kermit the Frog, Hoda had a great send-off. But Hoda reveals she struck a deal to stick around.

Hoda Kotb Strikes Deal To Be More Like Snoop Dogg

Undeniably, Snoop Dogg has diversified his public presence through the years. For instance, he teamed up with an unlikely counterpart, Martha Stewart, and made a big media splash. In the summer, Snoop surprised many fans by being a Special NBC Correspondent for the Paris Olympics. Additionally, the Grammy-winning rapper popped up on fans’ screens as he delivered the weather report in October 2024. Although Hoda Kotb has wrapped up her time as a co-anchor, she has struck a deal with NBC to be more like Snoop. Admittedly, now Hoda will embrace a new “Snoopish” role.

Instead of waking up at the crack of dawn daily, Hoda Kotb can sleep in and enjoy simple pleasures. But fans will see her frequently in monthly segments for Today. Additionally, fans can expect to see her during the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan. Likewise, she plans to travel with her NBC family again for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Hoda Kotb Just Can’t Stay Away

After Snoop Dogg made his grand appearance in Paris alongside Hoda Kotb, The Sun revealed he earned a hefty $499,300 daily as a Special Olympics Correspondent. Although the details aren’t clear about how much Hoda agreed to collect for her coverage of special events, she is certainly beloved by friends, co-hosts, and The Today Show fans. While interviewing with Page Six, Hoda expressed, “I want to be a supporting character on a team that is already in place so that I’ll come in and just have a role there.”

Furthermore, she plans to tide fans over by resurfacing from her family life regularly. She continues, “I think we talked about doing something every four to six weeks, just a little something.” Likewise, she won’t leave Jenna Bush Hager hanging. She promises to return as an occasional guest on Jenna & Friends. However, Hoda squashes any rumors that her leaving was about money.

Not Just About Money

Over the past few months, Today host, Hoda Kotb has let fans know she was confronted with the need to be more present in her daily life with her daughters, Hope and Haley. Undeniably, they won’t stay little for long. While there has been talk about Hoda being disgruntled over pay, she clarifies, “This job is amazing and I don’t do it because I get a paycheck every other Thursday. That’s not why. Because then you’re only happy on every other Thursday.”

Furthermore, she adds, “I do it because I love it. And I think it never has been a money thing for me … I’ve taken jobs I’ve loved, and then I’ve asked, you know, for whatever I wanted.” Even so, her new contract allows her the best of both worlds. She will be able to walk her girls to school, focus on her new wellness gig, and stay engaged with her NBC family and friends.
